I cannot find anything in the regulations, and emailed Fish & Game and they only pointed out 80% let off for compounds. Does Montana have a minimum draw weight for traditional bow for Elk hunting?

Thx. I could not find one listed, but did not want to assume to much. Currently shooting 50# but m going to try to bump up to 55# before the end of September.

Minimum draw weights are interesting especially with traditional bows. They are marked at a certain draw weight at a certain draw length. If you happen to short draw, you are shooting much less to the tune of 5-10 pounds drawing a couple inches less. The efficiency of newer compound bows versus older ones makes draw weight something you need to read between the lines on also. Kinetic energy combinations with lighter and heavier arrows makes a big difference too.
