Can anyone give me an update on how current wildfires and smoke may be affecting the hunting conditions around the SE edge of the Lewis & Clark Mountains ? Going up in about 2 weeks. Thx for any info.

Thx Rod. Was hoping on a little more personal perspective. I have been trying to follow on weather service websites , but not real familiar with area so info can be a little vague to me. I will be hunting just west of Judith Gap. Nice trad kills by the way. I will be hunting with an Osage selfbow, but carbon arrows.

I think you meant Lewis and Clark forest instead of Mountains. Several hundred miles separate them. Sounds like you'll be in the Belts or maybe the Crazies? Don't know for certain, but don't remember hearing about too many fires in that vicinity. Someone else closer will eventually chime in I'm sure. Good luck.

Yes looking at google maps, I think you are right. Looks like Far East end of Helena-Lewis&Clark National Forest if I interpret right.
