I got some really nice camo at Walmart the other day. Made of the same material as Sitka and it was only $70 for ultra light weight cold weather coat and semi insulated waterproof pants. The same stuff at Cabelas was $200 for the cheap stuff

I had to go in and check them out. Was at the Wichita store twice last weekend and the prices were nothing close to these. Had to buy some stuff as well. A guy can never have to much camo....can he?

I was in there yesterday and overheard the guy running the Bargain Cave say "you only go through a merger like this once"...I laughed.

Bunch of boots and waders for sale at the store, and they've been adding things to the website everyday this week...worth watching.

Can't find anything on Cabelas site about rock bottom.

KYBourbon's Link
If you’re using your phone, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the link that takes you to the full site.

Once on the full site you’ll see a “rock bottom price” option in the bargain cave.

FYI...the Cabelas in Wichita(and I'd assume elsewhere) is getting rid of the "Bargain Cave" but everything in there is 1/2 off the already discounted price.

It's pretty picked over but there are still some deals, LOTS of Avian Turkey decoys and boots/shoes, also a bunch of muzzleloaders but they are only 30% off...you're welcome.

Lots of things changing at Cabelas. We just got notice that our long time Cabelas Visa is about to become Master Charge. Thank you Bass Pro.

Can't figure out why everyone blames BPS for this. It was Cabela's that was going belly up. All BPS is guilty of is buying Cabela's.

Cabela's reported a total net profit of $173.5 million and a net profit margin of 5.6% during 2012. Cabela's reported a total net profit of $224.4 million and a net profit margin of 6.2% during 2013. Cabela's reported a total net profit of $201.7 million and a net profit margin of 5.5% during 2014. Cabela's reported a total net profit of $189.3 million and a net profit margin of 4.7% during 2015. Cabela's reported a total net profit of $146.9 million and a net profit margin of 3.6% during 2016.

Not sure what they were at in 2017 but I wouldn't consider 100+ million in profit going belly up.

I did great on the sale right after Christmas!! I bought 1500 worth of their Wooltimate clothing line for about 600 bucks. The stuff is incredibly warm but they also have some lighter stuff for just cool weather. Cabelas just went for the money and no head aches, they were not going broke. Shawn

If you've read the changes on the credit card it is not good. You will be losing most of your protections. I have had a black card for many years. Sadly, I will be cashing in my points and canceling it when the new ones are issued.

$100M Profit sounds great, but the margins are thin and the numbers are trending in the wrong direction.

Still would be quite a stretch to say they were "going belly up". Tesla has survived for quite a few years while losing 100+ million a year...

13-Aug-18
Seems like since 2012 they had been dropping some of their best products and cutting corners on the ones they kept. They were going the wrong direction, whether you want to call it belly up or not. Still use Bass Pro and Cabela's but Rogers is better option than either Cabela's or BPS. No sales tax, free shipping most of the time, and you get you order in 3 days. It was taking Cabela's over a week to just process any order I made. They were having major problem's.

A couple of weeks ago, while in the bargain cave I got these much needed Lacrosse AlphaBurly Pro 18” uninsulated rubber boots for $50. Looking forward to trying them out this season.
