I think this question was asked last year but has anybody hunted the islands on the Connecticut River ? I was going to have some time off at the end of the year and I was looking for a little bit of fun and adventure and maybe a new place to go.

I have, They can be OK, tend to get a lot of pressure and can be hit or miss.

Only for waterfowl , from enfield to old Lyme

Bb that surprises me, thanks for the info, I thought most hunters are lazy so the ones by boat I thought would get less pressure

Most of the Islands aren't that big, and it doesn't take many hunters to push the deer off the Is;lands plus many of the islands get hunted during waterfowl season. If you hit it right they can be good. but there is enough people that know about the better ones where they get hunted fairly frequently.

Exactly what BB said - I've had days of seeing lots of deer to barren islands altogether

Some are privately owned. Guys were arrested in years past for hunting on them
