area sugestions

I have lived in the four corners area for around 15 years, and now live on the border in NM. around the Navajo Dam. I am new to the draw and am 69 so I am trying to decide on the areas to pick. I don't really understand the how to draw for area 55 can someone tell me what qualifies someone to hunt there?

You need to be a resident of NM to apply as a resident. If not met the qualifications yet, you'd need to apply as a non-resident (NR).

Honestly, although somewhat daunting starting from scratch, everything you need to know can be found on NM Department of Game & Fish website.

To apply for hunt units it's all online. You get 3 choices of hunt codes (all spelled out in the Rules booklet - hard copy in sporting goods type stores or PDF). Each unit/dates/weapon has a hunt code and those are what you enter as choices to apply.

I'd suggest reading the Rules cover to cover and then coming back here with specific questions.
