Buckhorn unit

Anyone hunted this area? If so what are your thoughts or experiences while hunting there.

Haven't hunted there since 2006. We used to camp at Siloam Springs State park, just a few minutes away and they hunt both places. We would go the last week of Oct into the first week of November. Its a nice layout for hunting with the agricultural fields, and back then it seemed like most pressure was near the parking lots. Lots of the wooded draws were very steep and rough back then, some places it was difficult to find a climbable tree with a climber. As with most public land, did see several hunters, saw a few nice deer. The camp host at Siloam Springs hunted both places and recommended to come back and hunt the Monday after the first gun season, as lots of deer were driven into he parks from the surrounding private ground that was leased out. We always had a nice time there, but like I said, hadn't been there since 2006, go up there and walk it out, its a nice lay out. Good luck

Turkey hunted there in the spring a few years back. Super steep and thick, would not be fun getting one out. Good luck if you go. The campground in SS was nice.

Yea I am hopefully gonna get the chance to hunt it for the first time this upcoming season. with work schedule and everything hopefully draw firearm tag there too and put some time in a stand there this year. Thanks for your guys’ thoughts and keep em coming guys!!!
