My friend shot this bearded hen around 4:10 pm Wednesday afternoon. I've never seen one with a beard this long. Pretty cool thought I would share it.

Very nice and unique. The past couple of years I had a bearded hen in my area. I had her in range a few times and was very tempted. The large Toms kept me from shooting. I finally decided this year I would shoot her if the opportunity arose and would get a full body mount. Then the winter storm came and moved the turkeys out of that area! Once again "a bird in the hand... " lol. Congrats to your friend.

Tough being a jake with that big mama out there.

The Jakes can have a normal season now.

A friend shot what he/we thought was a jake years ago. Did not realize it was a hen till we noticed eggs in her.
