Got a doe that beds her fawn down right behind my apartment and takes off. I keep seeing her come back and forth from the spot sometimes alone and sometimes with the young one.

It’s early. If there are fawns walking around with their moms now, the moms would have had to have been bred October 22-26 or so. 200-205 day gestation cycle.

Last year she used the same spot. She must feel comfortable there. I'm not sure how because there's a lot of yotes in the little patches around me.

They must be getting antsy and are out looking for spots to drop their fawns soon. Another couple weeks and they’ll be having babies.

SWK...I drove from Southington to Groton today and saw five road kills. That number will be going up over the next month for sure.
