Finally drew a tag in California to be excited about. From what I gather A26 hunt is weather depended. Along with seeing average bucks daily, with the mature ones holding up high for weather to run them down.
For those who know the area, is it mostly public or private? I'm not familiar with the area at all, but of course I plan on scouting it before season.
I'm debating if hiring an outfitter would be the smart way to go since I live 10+ hours away. If so, anyone recommend an outfitter they know? Thanks
Best of luck to all you guys this season.

The link is to the map of the unit. You can see by the color code what's public and what's private.

Plenty of public in the Egan and the Bass Hill walk-in wildlife areas, as well as some of the timber company land up Chery Creek. Just pray for snow!
