Elk everywhere.

On the drive home from town this evening, ran into a herd of about 40 elk, stopped the car on the road and watched for about 15 minutes. That was 40 cows and most had a calf with them. All were talking. One of the calves ran up to the car and looked at us from about 2 feet away. We just froze, didn't want to scare the little guy. He finally walked back to his momma and then they wandered off into the forest.
Living in the forest is fun.

Very cool! We have elk all around us while camping, it's a pretty neat experience to be just sitting there in a lawn chair and have them come wondering out.

Not on the highway, on Colcord Rd. about 3 miles from Hwy 260. No pictures, hard to take a picture with a flip phone.
