Just a friendly reminder....be careful out there, take as many precautions as you can against Ticks and other nasty bugs.
I ready to toss my PC out the window.... can someone see if they can post this? www.duluthnewstribune.com/lifestyle/health/4471293-wisconsin-woman-dies-tick-borne-disease
I posted this a few days ago and no responses
My bad Grunter, didn't see it otherwise I would have commented on it.
I know it sounds stupid but i try to keep my head in the sand about things like this.
I would rather make people aware of the dangers of things like this.
My son 33 yrs old died several yrs ago contributed to Lyme, he developed A-Fib from taking a regime of IV vacomysine treatment and possible conflict with a stomach med. He woke up and logon at his work station at home and fell from the chair and died. He had a tick dug deep into his inner thigh and put it off in seeing the Dr. and it cost him his life, just be vigilant .
Man Jjs... I can't imagine losing my kid... sorry for your loss and that brings Lyme to a whole different level. My buddy in NY has had it twice. The second time, he just strated feeling crappy, not sure what was up. He said he had erlicilosis ???and sorry for the miss spelling. He was real sick this last time. It is difficult for him to see them on him as he is one step from Sasquatch looking with all his hair.
Tick borne diseases, nothing to take lightly.
My wife has had Lyme's twice. When the Dr. checks her blood she always tests positive, Dr. says she will forever now.
I had Ehrlichiosis and ended up with two hospital stays from one tick bite. Very serious disease. You feel like death warmed over and I am not certain I ever fully recovered. I was one of the first in WI to contract this disease and it took them 2 - 3 days to diagnose the problem. Once they figured out what was wrong the treatment solution took effect fairly rapidly and I was released from the hospital within three days. Still though, the entire event cost $$$$ and was not pleasant. I do not wish it on anyone.
As bowhunters we deal with this sort of thing & go on. What's the alternative? ...give up hunting? Don't know about you, but that's not for me!
I had Lyme's each of the last 2 years. Vigilant about looking for ticks but both times had very small ones dug in where the sun does not shine. About 2 weeks later, sick with massive headaches. Gratefull the Medford hospital which sees plenty of this had me feeling better thereafter. Hoping this disease does not resurface again.
Guys, sorry to chime in but since I have had a few cases of tick-borne illness' one thing bugs me (no pun intended). It is LYME disease, not LYME'S. Given the name after its discovery in LYME, CT.
I think people get the just of it!
