Anyone willing to share strategies/experiences in bowhunting bulls in high-elevation timber basins and pockets with grassy parks. Thanks.

Glass them early and late to figure out their schedules.
You might get a stalking opportunity in early season above Treeline like mule deer. Stay low and out of sight till you shoot. Be prepared for a long shot.
Later in the season, follow them into the trees and keep the wind in your favor. Go slow till you know where they are and be ready to shoot. If you feel like you have to call, don’t till you are 50 to 100 yards from them (closer is better). Be prepared to shoot at under 20 yards.

There is a good elk thread on Rokslide about thermals and elk hunting. Guys like Cazador and cnelk have some great and accurate input on thermals and are CO based. Good luck.
