Thought it was about time we see some deer on trail cams from this year. I got a pic of this buck today. I went out to dump and refill the water hole and he had been there about 45 minutes before that. First pic of him this year, not really sure but I might have some pics of him from last year. Hope he sticks around and grows some length and mass.
Best buck I got on camera so far.
Wow, that is one awesome buck, if his left matched his right he would be double awesome. The one with him has potential too.
I went out to put up cameras and do some trimming at three of my stands today. Surprise, one of my cameras was still there from last winter. This one made it thru all the deer seasons and I had several other smaller bucks that were there in January and February when the batteries died.
Nice bucks fellas. Putting my cams out this week. Both dandies!
Grunter X 2! Good luck to both of you, either would be an absolute dandy to get!
I'm a realtor and have this 290 acre piece listed in southern Jackson Co. Got this one the other day.
Did he escape from an elk farm? If so you should talk to your local warden.
Jeff that is a free ranging collard elk. They were released into Jackson county. Where have you been?
Came through 45 minutes before I stopped to pull the card...
There were elk released in eastern Jackson Co a couple years ago. They've been spotted in a number of areas of the county. However they tend to stay in the eastern part. I have a number of videos of them as well. The released animals all have tracking collars on them.
The doe that had Cutaneous Fibromas is back. All the warts have disappeared except for the cluster on her front left leg.
That was a total brain fart on the elk. My mind was on getting out to work on deer stands this morning.
It's ok Jeff, you had your priorities right;)
Haha RutnStrut! You get a pass Jeff.
Nice bucks fellas! This is just down the road from my bro in laws new house.
A old mineral block about 15 yards from my house.
The best one I have seen so far.

Dang Polk that's a stud! His crab claws look super deep. I'd be shaken
Amen Grunter. One of the biggest we have seen for a while.. who knows where he will end up.. fingers crossed..??
This one was two years ago and went 162. Same travel area.. this one looks big

It begins. It should read PM and not AM.
Need to zoom, but two decent bucks in this one.
Daytime now but once the season begins they shift to nocturnal activity. HMM.
Cool pics. Here's one the shows some nice potential. A nice main frame 10 with a drop tine on his right base is missing from the picture
Here's the potential pic, guess you can't put more than one pic per post.
Been following this site for a while now, but my first post. Thought I'd share this picture I got of a buck on the property.
I have a doe that is frequenting my yard that does not have a tail. I set the camera under the apple trees and got these shots. Looks pretty clean so I kind of think she never had one.
Found this guy in a new spot I'm scouting. Beautiful deer for Burnett County. Looks to be a 9, he's got a nice double on his right side tip. 8:55am, must be heading towards his bedding area? Another photo I got of him in this spot was 3:30am going the other direction.
Crazy deer, Lawdog! Tripod! Tough animals. Any prior history or knowledge of that one?
Have quite a few pictures of him this year, but none from last year. He looks alot like a buck I saw a couple times 2 years ago but also had 4 legs at that time. Neighboring property gets really trigger happy during gun season, so thinking he took round to that leg and survived after it fell off.
I checked my cameras this morning and this is from a cam near Clam Lake. NOT PHOTOSHOPPED! I think I will start to carry something bigger than my bow when hunting there now.
Be careful out there smokey!
Smokey if you see that cat just give him/her a scratch behind the ears. They just want to be loved;) maybe start carrying a laser pointer;)
I wonder how cats and wolves get along? I had a collared wolf under me opening night while bear hunting. It wouldn't leave. Probably didn't help I was groaning like a sick deer. It wanted me but I was in a tree. Fun to watch the rxn none the less.
A lot of nice bucks on this thread..
Hmmmm, Smokey, thats my neck of the woods I think. I do most of my hunting between Black lake and Moose river.
I call him, 'Overachiever', and have yet to get another picture.
Knife- that is a true giant! Good luck hunting him.
Hey Knife-I'm curious if your camera flashes when it takes a pic? If so, that maybe why you only have 1 pic of him? Just a thought. I've switched all my cams to blackflash and the results are much better with deer not noticing the camera. Good luck getting that tank!
This is a scrape and the first photo he had his head up by the licking branch. This is private land adjacent to public land near a rural area. It's not uncommon for us to get nice bucks on camera in the summer and they're just passing through or they hang around several days then vacate. But he's definitely a game changer. I got the heebie-jeebies when that photo popped up on my screen
Had not checked this camera in a while. This is the only pic I have of him so this is not his core area but certainly promising. Then again, maybe the very first pic in this thread is him too. Your thoughts?
This would be very cool if some of us actually shot one of these bucks that we posted a game pictures of. Then the first one of us to do that should start a new thread that includes the pic from the game cam then a pic of the buck after they got him.
Jeff, IMO very good chance its the same deer. Hard to really tell from a side vs rear angle, but if you have no other similar 10s, I would say so.
I did have a few more pics. Here is a back side-ish photo.
Absolute dream buck, Jeff.
That's a nice Buck Jeff, is that WI or Iowa?
You have way too many places to hunt, good luck on getting a crack at him.
Happened to me in 2016. I got a picture of this buck and killed him 2 days later. the month is off, it was actually November 9. I had not had him on camera that year prior to this.
What a TANK!!! What a nice thick neck on him. Nice deer! Got anything like that lined up for this year?
@Jeff in MN Changed my mind. Your July 10 point already has more brow tine than that guy. Thinking 2 different bucks my friend, which is not a bad thing!
A first for me at a bear bait site.
Frigidarrow, good catch on the G1's. Ya, two is good but how do I choose if they both come at once? ;-)
First card pull of the year a good start
BW, I have pictures of some nice bucks this year, but none that I'm seeing consistently on camera. You just never know though.
Lots of meat on the table, just swing that leg forward a bit...
These cattle were out of the woods when I put cameras out there about a month ago and they are out now. Don't understand why he brought them back in for such a short time.
Tonight I sat in the stand where the pic above was taken. (First sit of the season) Same view from stand as in this picture but 15' up in a tree. Kept thinking that I would like to see a nice big buck standing in the same spot. All I saw was a doe and it was 20+ yards past this cow in the thick brush.
Regarding the prior post, it just occurred to me, when they took the cattle out they might have missed this one versus bringing the whole herd back in. Gates are all open now so they must have gotten him out.
First buck at this licking branch.
My stand has a guard dog :-(
Not a game camera...more like a morning coffee shot.
These jive turkeys came in while drinking coffee yesterday morning, calling them in with some app on my phone.
I sat last night off the edge of an area I found with some scrapes and sign. I had a buck come through, your average 8, and then two does running. I thought that was odd, should be the buck after the doe? Then I hear a lady yelling at her dog coming down the trail behind me. Oh well, public land close to town.
L2H, that reminds me of a public trail I hunted near many years ago. People would often walk by talking to each other and I could only imagine some of the things they talked about when they thought they were in a private setting. One time it was so juicy I couldn't resist and said 'oh really'. The look on their face was priceless, they stepped up the pace of their walk.
LOL, yes Jeff, I know I could have freaked a few people out as they walked past/under me. I haven't had the people have to take care of a nature call or being nature yet, but know people who have had it happen, LOL. The one dumb buck put a big scrape and tore the brush up right on this main two rut road for all to see. I should have covered it up. But, I've done well in this spot when I can sneak in during the week in the morning and no one else is there.
I've been on both sides of that.... best was a father with daughter that walked by noticed a 10min old blood trail. He kneeled down put his finger in blood and said this is fresh we need to call the police. I was 20 feet up in a climber trying not to laugh. Cop came and helped me drag. On the other hand, I once walked out of the woods opening morning gun when I was a very new hunter to unload breakfast as I thought doing so in the woods would ruin my hunt. As I got to the forest rd I notice another truck about 20 yards away. Did my business and being nosey I walked past the truck (check for footprints to tell me where he hunts maybe?) and realize there's a guy inside with a handicap vehicle hunting permit....
Another stand with protection.
That'll keep those pesky deer away.
Smokey, you must be in the same area where Treefarm had his bear baits. 4 of his 6 baits had wolf on them.
Thoughts anyone?
Thoughts anyone?
Hey Kat - I don't know what the heck that thing is but I can tell you I was once on stand and had a pot bellied pig come by,...maybe it's a sibling!
Looks like an insanely fat raccoon to me with its tail pointed directly at the cam. I have one on cam that looks very similar.
if only i had remembered to set the time and date on the camera(DOH)
This bald eagle doesn't seem to happy with this turkey.
Little guys playing sparta wi
8:30 Saturday morning, I haven’t got a pic of this guy since 9/1.
All three of these guys showed up on the camera this last week.
Not what I was expecting. As far as bucks I just have a few scrubs on camera.
Checking out my mock scrape Unfortunately my tag is filled
Sorry for the poor quality. This cam doesn't do well in cold temps.
I'll take care of him for you
Couple little guys fighting sparta wi
Just checked this camera to see this bad boy (this was the last pic in a sequence of 3)... almost a perfect 14. Let's hope he survives the week!
