Oklahoma black bear hunting

How likely am I to find a good black bear on public ground in the 4 counties open to bear hunting. Pushmataha, McCurtain, Wister areas. Is there places in these units where I can get a ways off a trail. I dont mind a good hike for a good bear.

Plenty places in ouchita national forest to get off the trail. Plenty bears too but killing one without bait on public land probly the tuffest hunting challenge in Oklahoma. I tried it for 2 years before I finally got a lease so I could bait. They will be in white oaks and it will most likely be a long wait but u never know.

Like swampokie said there are bears on public land McCurtain and Leflore counties will have the most bears on public but killing one without bait would just be pure luck.
