Buy a bear stamp, as rutbuster said, expect the unexpected. Keep everything you have doublelocked. A lot of really good people down there and a few not so good.

Hunt prime travel times. Unless you have a buck patterned, you might want to wait until November for movement. Find pockets where there are deer.

I’ll second that, while a few nice bucks get killed early over acorns or corn most of the activity is first 3 weeks of November and late season if weather hits

Hunt thanksgiving week if you are serious about killing a mature deer.

One good thing about those southern counties is that there is no poaching so there should be plenty of big bucks left
