A friend was giving me a hand loading some large rocks into the back of my truck today (landscaping project). The first rock I rolled had a 12 inch copperhead under it.
The snake took off then a few seconds later my buddy grabbed me and yanked me back.... I was darn near standing on another one that was bigger!
I decided those two boulders could wait a few more days. We got around 10, but we were WAY more cautious moving them.
I know copperheads arent as agressive or venomous as a rattler, but i cant imagine a bite would have felt good...lol

I'm glad you didn't get bit! Unless you are vulnerable to their venom or have a medical condition, they won't kill you... but you'll still have a bad time of it. One good thing, more snakes means less mice... less mice means less ticks. Just gotta give them a little room ;^)
