I have a spot that I usually hunted when going up north but it was recently clear cut. The area was mostly pines if that matters. Should I bowhunt this area or save it for the 9-day gun season? Are these areas typically a better morning or afternoon spot?

I typically would hunt this spot in the morning trying to catch the deer going back to the think bedding there. There are still areas to bed for the deer but they are all a little north of where I would typically hunt.

If you can figure out where the deer will bed hunt the edge of the clearcut only in the evening.

Hunt with your scent blowing towards the cut. Deer will come from the thick bedding area to feed in cut at dusk. Do not hunt if your scent is blowing into the bedding area.
