I had a good morning squirrel hunting in a state forest. Plenty of them around and my shooting was pretty good despite the thick canopy.
I came across this sign and found it very funny and very sad. I guess people may be so traumatized by seeing a tree stump in the forest they need to be warned about it. We even have a new euphemism for selective logging. World has gone crazy.

I feel sorry for the person who has to answer the phone when concerned people call the number at the bottom of the sign.

I was at a wetland meeting about logging my place as required even though they have no ability to say no. The total lack of knowledge of the people is shocking for the role they are in. They were so worried about cutting down a tree. One person even said specifically they joined wetland committee beacuse a neighbor logged their property and they didn't like it. As was explained to me by a state forester long ago, due to Connecticut's climate if you cut a tree five will grow in it place.

I wish they would do that here. The libs don’t want trees cut down for habitat health but they have no issues cutting down trees for solar panels. Nice squirrels!
