Just got permission in another spot, via a phone call. For some reason, for me, this seems to work better than knocking on doors (maybe people find this off-putting) or writing a letter (I wrote some letters so beautiful they’d bring tears to your eyes—and I think they mostly got thrown in the trash). The phone call seems to be the sweet spot. Just thought I’d mention in case anyone wants to add it to their toolbox.

Jeb, that's very cool. I wonder if it feels personal enough... But also allows enough space that they can easily say no if they want. In person may feel to tight, not enough space... and a letter perhaps is not personal enough?

Who knows, but it's good to hear. Now, just call Stainbrook and ask him to stock the area for you :)

Good point, he’s not going to know to stock it if he doesn’t know I’m there. This year I’m going to spring for the deluxe package, where he ties them to a tree.

Make sure he doesn't tie them behind the tree...
