New York's Venison Donation needs help

had this come up on my news feed thought I would share it anyone that buys license to the New York can donate for the hunters feeding the hungry on their licenses.

With 500K licensed hunters, looks like NY should assess a $1 fee per license sale to earmark for this fund. Even $0.50 looks like it would work. There is probably a bunch of red tape to do this and then you have the guys complaining about paying a buck for a program that they don't use.

Yeah... all we need is the government charging us more to run the program. It works cuz its privately run. Leave it alone.

Crow, it isn't working. Its losing money and if you leave it alone it will go away. For $0.50 to $1 per licensed hunter, this program would survive. Not a government thing. A program like this that donates venison helps communities and puts hunters in a positive light.

I understand Staten Island has lots of deer, and I think the last count was 9 bajillion. Maybe instead of paying over $3 mil to snips the bucks they should euthanize them and donate. Any thoughts?
