Stumbled upon this the other day. Opening is about as big as a soccer ball. I Set trail cam to check on Saturday hope no skunks. Any thoughts who might be home?

Found where a Bear was digging out a big Maple tree. He left his calling card on his door step.

Looks like a chuck to me.

Maybe it was a tree monkey!!

Soccer ball size sounds more like a coyote than a chuck, but it seems odd that they’d be digging out now...

Unless it was a coyote digging a chuck out of his burrow.

Does anybody know if coyotes regularly use dens in winter? It’d make sense...

GF very possible, had a cam on it about a week now no activity whatsoever no prints or scat either.

If it has bones at the entrance most likely Fox. If not most likely woodchuck.

Spike, if a woodchuck could chuck wood..how much can a woodchuck chuck?
