After tearing my rotator cuff 2 weeks ago I still wanted to hunt so I dropped down to 40 lb Limbs and kilt this deer this morning .

Good for you! I've kilt several critters with bows in the 40# range. Okay... so, what kind of limbs are those? I've never heard of "Discover" limbs.

They are Samick limbs. The people at 3 Rivers doctored em up to fit me DAS.

Congrats! A little disappointed that you didn’t hold out for a spike though. ;>)

Draw shouder which for me wasn’t as bad. If I was left handed I’d be in trouble because no way could I lift the bow and hold it . I can draw and shoot one time the 40 lb bow.

It is shot placement and sharpness that kills the deer. High poundage is not necessary.

The surgeon said that if I was a baseball player or worked all the time above my head I’d need surgery. PT now. I don’t shoot heavy poundage anyway. About 54 lbs but this 40 feels good. I got good penetration to the bone in the offside shoulder. I shoot close shots anyway

Good post Babysaph…..I have been using a #44@30 BW. Has no issues at all being plenty for deer. What Mt. William said is right on the money.

I put my bow on the scales. It is 36 lbs. Had I not killed that buck with it I would be afraid to use it even though I know people use them that weight. Needless to say my shots are going to be real close. I have given some fat does a pass this year.
