This morning I got a late start. Left my home in Warwick MA and got in my stand at 615 am, I like get settle about a half hour earlier. Well anyway as I was a little behind schedule I new I want to try one of the doe tarsal glands I purchased from a deer farm in PA. When I got to my stand I hung it up about 4 ft in a sapling about 20 ft downwind of my ladder stand. I got up in my stand settled in and as I just about always do I thanked God for this beautiful morning and at the end asked to be bless with a shooter buck. I opened my eyes , looked over my left shoulder towards the Tarsal gland hanging and well what do you think. See pic

I was the one beat up . Had to drive back home to get my hips waders because it went into the swamp about 75yrds away. The swamp was extra wet with all this rain. Found it about 50yrds in. It was a pain dragging that out with the tall swamp grass ,cattails , 2ft of water with 1ft off mud. Oh ya, not bad for 64yrs old.

Great deer, but please don’t use a deer parts from a state with confirmed CWD. It is not smart (and not legal in some states)

That’s an awesome deer congrats. I love the quick short hunts ( not the dragging part) but the sit down and shoot ones

I want to thank everybody for all their pats on my back. I hope everyone has a great season. Thanks GED for that info and I hope others will follow, it's a serious issue. I've disposed farm raised imported, local is better. Thanks all

Great deer! Much respect getting it out of some tough habitat. I am literally half your age and I would have called in the reinforcements!

I may be wrong but I believe those glands are part of the fur when shipped to you which is legal according to the link. Should be fine.

No problem getting them from your local processor. To be technical actually deer urine and other fluids like orbital and digital from the deer would be part of the deer
