Don't forget, your chance to be heard by the CBA board on the Big Game Season Structure is tomorrow night at 6:30pm at the Fort Collins Archery Association clubhouse. Hope you can make it, look forward to hearing member ideas.

Thank you Steve for hosting the meeting last night in Fort Collins. It was nice to hear what was being discussed by the CBA and the CPW. There also was a good exchange of ideas among the few of us who attended. I would encourage all CBA members who can, to attend the meeting that Steve will be hosting on Wednesday, October 24th at 6:30 in the Hunter Education Building, 6060 Broadway in Denver. This is your chance to learn, ask questions and give your input on what the CBA will ultimately recommend to the CPW on what your archery seasons could possibly look like for the next 5 years. Please spend a couple hours of your time to come and support Steve and the CBA as they work to maintain and improve your future archery hunting experiences.

Thanks Dave, I heard some news today that was unexpected. The governor has appointed 4 new appointments to the Parks and Wildlife commission, effective immediately, subject to approval by the legislature. For various reasons commissioners Zipp, Pizel, and Winfield were not reappointed, and a vacancy was filled. More details can be found here:
Change is never easy as relationships need to be established, and new commissioners have steep learning curves. Big issues are on the short term horizon.

A couple of these are odd appointments. From what little I've been able to find out, Taylor is a serious mountain biker, Garcia came from the Civil Rights Commission, Peppler and her husband are in the restaurant business, and Burkett is a well-known big league fly fisherman and entrepreneur.
Not sure of the "outdoor" connections of either Peppler or Garcia. However, I tend to trust Hickenlooper's judgment on these (while cringing more than a little) rather than the mess we might get after Polis is elected - imagine gay vegan birdwatchers deciding hunting policy......

Earlier post says next meeting is on Wednesday, October 14. Can we assume that actually means November 14?
