Careful tomorrow- bad winds up till daybreak- up to 45mph. Freezing temps can make dead wood brittle.

Yikes! Knew it was going to be windy, didnt know it was going to be that windy...

The deer don't care! If I can get out of work in time I'll be out, preferably in something sturdy.

I have the time but too windy for me- I’ll take a half day on Friday.

I'll dip into a new spot in the afternoon. One that I set up last season and cleared shooting lanes in the spring. Just down the road a bit so its good for the "running late" hunt. Good luck morning folks.

I am out this morning, finally. Wind is almost none here and it’s chilly. Bumped a deer walking in right behind my friends house. Not a good sign of things to come !!!! Let’s hope it doesn’t tell it’s friends that there is a weirdo walking around in the woods

Yeah Will that was fun. So far 3 sits and 3 bucks seen from this stand. Hard to leave it alone till the rut. Have only been in there 3 times since the opener and this was the first morning hunt

Yeah 3 on one side and a 9” spike on the other. Stomach says shot him - common sense says let him go. This stand really doesn’t get going till beginning of November. I will sit there tomorrow morning and then leave it till Halloween morning

Checked some cams before me earlier meetings. Bucks were on the move this AM. I'm gonna brave the wind and sit this afternoon.

Back in a different stand this afternoon. I knicknamed it the big stand. A very old natural cranberry bog that deer sometimes filter through in the early and late hours. They come in quick and I have a 30 yd window to get it done, but the wind was right for it

Back in stand. Pulled out my First Lite gear. Feeling toasty.

The deer don't care about the wind gusts. They don't care about rain. They move when it is cold. They sure we're moving today. I could have shot 3 does if I had time today. I was sitting in my living room with my wife and new baby girl, when my wife points out 3 does 10 feet from our back deck. I could have grabbed my bow and shot out my living room sliding door, but I knew I didn't have time today to track, gut, drag, and take to the butcher, so the deer got a pass. They come all the time and I can legally hunt off my back deck. Wow I love my new house, almost as much as my new baby girl. Nothing but errands to do today. Hunting tomorrow. You know, when the deer are no where near me. Lol. Enjoy and be safe.

I bumped 2 bucks out that were bedded to the east of my stand yesterday afternoon. Nice 8 and big 6. They went up above me. The wind kept switching and i didn't see a thing. I went out and they were both out in the field about 200 yards to my west.
