I had my very first encounter tonight: 1 minute after last shooting. It was very dark, I literally didn't see one deer - just eyes glowing in the bright moon. It was dark, buried in brush, but I still confirmed it was deer. See photos

Pretty cool.. not to be a dick, you should find out if you're not breaking any laws just by using it in the woods

Excellent tool A-N! Thanks for showing it.

I have been interested in a similar viewing potential and would love to have a nighttime monocular. Has anyone tested them? The less expensive options but not the toy models. Don't want to spend 5k ... But seeing where they are when entering or exiting seems to be a great tool to not bugger them.

Would be a lot of fun to watch em at night too. But not to take full advantage of course. Don't want to take the discipline of hunting away. Keeping an Eye on politicians is another story...

There is nothing illegal about watching thermal signatures. Arrows in the quiver, exiting the woods. I don’t think it’s illegal to use flir to shoot a deer but the concept is ridiculous since you need to identify animal tip to tail visually and it was after legal shooting times anyway. It was just cool to see since I was in the dark and kind of trapped there not wanting to spook the deer. I brought the flir in case I had to search for the deer I figured thermal signature at night in deep brush would be an awesome way to recover.

PI, hopefully soon she'll be on the trail of tears. There our Murphy can give her guidance on foreclosures and tax loopholes while Blumenthal spins yarns of his days in country

Nob, hate to see someone get screwed over some residuals game law
