Nice buck killed this am on Route 2 in Erving, that’s zone 5. What a shame, but I thought I would share. Definitely shows the big ones are starting to move. Next couple of days should be great.

saw one this am on 495N at rt 2 (border of zn 9 and 10) looked similar to this one from the side of the rack I could see

Sad reality but it is a good record of where the action is and how it's progressing Eastward. Soon to be kicking up east of 495 at 295 and 95 and then onto the South Shore and cape.
At least that is the way it has been recorded in my mental notepad.

Bummer. I hate roadkill. I know ultimately something will eat it, but it just always feels pointless. As Pi said though, does seem to relate to deer friskiness, so a help in that regard.

my buddy who is cop always calls me over the next couple of weeks to see if I want a roadkill deer. I tell him only if it is a racker and not beat up. I've gotten a few nice ones from him over the years. Sure sucks that they have to go that way though.

Had to post that from my phone. Tech issues. But this one was killed crossing rt 120 less than 100 yards from my old stand location. Simply some great genetics running through those woods. My first buck killed close by and my best ( the stolen buck) was killed on the same run 3/4 of a mile away. ( similar) A few other close calls in that 1/2 mile circle. Some places are just that way. Big Buck making machines.
Anyway, the timing was our/ that location, local rut peek, just after western Ma.by a week, Watch the progression ... enjoy the show ... that's all boys I gotta go.
Out to the woods for first return. Need to get a climber moved and camera up. Short sit.

I believe this one was hit in Becket, MA several years ago. Zone 3. It was all over the internet... but I held the rack and saw the deer...

Ungie I remember seeing that come onto the interweb a few years ago. Amazing animal - must have been unreal to hold those antlers! You just dont know what's walking around out there :)

On the way to fox woods passed two road kills one on 295 in RI. and the other on 95 in Conn.
