Ughh slept 20 min too late walking in 15 yards. Boom bigest buck ive seen at least huge 8. Trots off 15 yards!!!!

Out behind the house. Got out right at legal, later than I hoped. Concerned I might bump this old doe that chased all the other girls away, but it was good. 10 minutes later here she comes with her 2 young of the year. I won't lie, she almost went down, but I was thinking more about live buck bait than a drag and gut. And this second Saturday in November usually brings a decent buck by mid morning.
As I watched these 3 does, the old batch caught a sniff of the BB I sprayed on my boots fo off the walk in and was looking everywhere for that interloper. She followed her kids up the hill from me, then circled back, came down my trail, under my tree. She was looking to kick some butt! She ran circles through these few acres I'm in for 30 minutes. If she comes back I'm gonna have to put her on the hook. She's already busted me 3 times this year...

Same thing happened to me this morning. To make things worse he did a 100 yrd loop and was 20 yrds from my treestand When I got to it.

Got out by 5:15 this am, climbed 30’ into a nice pine only to see I didn’t clip my bag... down climbed and hooked it up and back up I climbed.
Was ready for first light but not much but me and the tree rats

Settled in at 5:30, nice mature doe at 6:08. Decided I was buck hunting today. No buck in tow. May have been the same doe that had a buck tailing her 2 days ago.

ZK here... And ZS (Zone Swim Club) for me. If it was not super windy I would bring the kids out in the blind later... Oddly I'm more ok with me maybe getting squished than them, so given the expected gusts, Ill just enjoy watching my Bowsite Brethren chasing deer around.
MRW, those old smart does are worse than 6.5YO bucks. Worse in the "I wont let you get me, and Ill make sure you cant get my family either" way.
Hick that's awesome! I cant believe I'm going here, but you all may have been gaining on me with the saddle stuff. Every time I schlep my climber in, find a great spot, and realize "I'd need a fixed stand or saddle... or Ghille suit" I contemplate it.
LW / XOP fixed and sticks = about the weight of my climber, or a hair less.
Saddle with sticks = the weight of the LW / XOP stand without sticks.
I may be a saddle slinger next year...

Lucky here in Z11, no rain since 5. And now the temps are starting to drop with the West wind picking up.
Might have to move to Z-Hot Tub for a coffee with my smoking hot wife. But I'll give the bucks until 10, after that they won't be invited for dinner!

Slept late this morning, got up to take a leak, and watched a doe with two fawns browsing through the back yard.
Mrw, I'm envious. The jetpump for the hot tub is on a bench in the basement waiting for me to change the run capacitor. Otherwise I might be surfing bowsite from the HT this morning.

Glad I'm not on camera right now, lol. Was just full on twisted 160 deg too the tree, zipper down about to answer natures call and had a spike at 60 yards jogging circles on the hill trying to scent that doe. Can call, and tune call bleats couldn't bring him my way.

Thanks guys! Caught a glimpse of a deer at 7. Got ready but I’m t never showed. At 745 I hear a stick snap behind me. Turn slowly and see a doe at 10 yards. Can see the legs of another deer but thought it was the skipper. Wasn’t gonna shoot till the big doe came LIMPING hard out of the thicket, back left leg up in the air. Must’ve got hit by a car. So I was gonna shoot her. Quickly grabbed bow, stood, drew, making all sorts of noise and not being graceful at all. Never got a clear shot at her. So now I’m still at full draw, slowly turn to see if it was in fact the skipper behind it. Nope. Ten pointer. How he didn’t run away is beyond me!! He stepped out and I shot him at 8 yards. He had one thing on his mind, and that’s what got him killed. Get out there guys it’s really heating up!

Bruce, don't let that go too long. I had mine off one winter thinking I had it drained and I had to replace a bunch of plumbing that froze and cracked.

Went duck hunting this morning and the action was amazing. I was going to bring my bow but didn't, my friend said i should but it was just too much to carry. We are almost back to my truck at around 10am and I see a tail flash 15 yards away. Real nice 6 pointer, stopped at 20 yards. He was right behind a doe. I drop my gear run to my truck and grab my bow. Come back to the spot I saw him. Creep in the woods about 15 yards. Let out a few grunts but slipped and snapped a stick. This mother bleeper was 20 yards to my left. He bounded away to about 40. I grunted again he stopped and Turned but couldn't get a shot off and off he went. Talk about a crazy morning! Ruts in high gear gentlemen. Good luck!

had a nice 6 pointer sneak up to me at 9:00 this morning and passed by at 10 yards. and a 5 pointer yesterday morning walked right below me. both had nose to ground strolling along. both got a pass.

Used a buck bomb for the first time this evening while hunting in zone 10 and had a dandy 8 point come in at 12 to 15 yards. He caught me so off guard and just didn't get chance draw. With all the rain we have got, I didnt hear him coming at all. This could have been my first buck ever and first deer with with my longbow. Slightly disappointed, but also dying to get back out there. Maybe one more time before heading to northern WI deer camp for a week.
