Posted these on another site last week but, thought some of ya'll might enjoy them. Got permission to hunt a new piece of land close to home here in Westmoreland 2B. It was convenient to get the kids out. Still pretty busy and we didn't get out much but, there are a few deer out there. I put this "low" double ladder stand out on Friday, 11/2. The times after the time change are off by an hr. Funny thing is, we have yet to see a deer while we have sat this stand. I even sat it last Friday in the snow until 9am and nothing. Took a LONG walk and only a few tracks. Did kick out one small buck and a few UFOs. Enjoy.

Very cool vids and some nice buck. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Wow, either your stand stinks or your scent is still there on the ground after all that time. All but one of them clearly smelled something and were not sure about it. Some great bucks tho, looks like a pretty good pickup on the property for sure. Good luck

Hmm....not sure what you are seeing that makes you think that. They see the stand, and that makes a couple of them edgy but that's it. Don't think its the smell... Have a couple videos of does and fawns walking in the same area but didn't post them (prior to the bucks).

The one buck actually walks up and noses the ladder... The last vid, something up on top of the hill behind the camera spooks that buck and makes him run off.

Your scent is leading them right to your stand, that’s why they are sniffing your ladder where you stepped on it. If proper scent elimination didn’t take place, residual scent can linger for days. You mentioned you bring your kids with you, that might be where the lingering scent is coming from if you’re taking scent free precautions. Also your vehicle seats can hold a lot of smells which will transfer to your person when driving to a site as well, there are a lot of reason scent can transfer even if you think you’re scent free.

The kids and I take scent precautions. All clothes are washed in DDW, the kids take a no scent shower before they go to school if they are hunting that evening....best we can do with time restraints. Boots/pants are sprayed with no scent spray as we leave the truck. When we make it onto the trail, both my boots and the kids get evercalm placed on the bottoms. Until I pulled the camera, we were only in that stand once. Approach is from the front, downhill side of the stand, not the camera side where the deer are approaching from. I was only at the camera on Nov. 2nd when I placed it and I take full scent precautions. There were multiple heavy weather/wind/downpour events that happened over the course of these videos. NO residual scent between the camera and the stand....I think you guys are trying to see more than you want to. Again, I have several doe/fawns taking similar paths as the bucks down the hill and across the camera view. Maybe one of the doe was hot? I do think some of the bucks were alarmed by the actual ladder being there....Anyways, good luck to those that haven't tagged out yet.

Okie dokie. Not trying to step on any toes. Just popped out at me that just about each one of those deer got nervous at just about the same spot. I wish you much luck. I would be excited with those videos on my camera....

Well obviously you got it all figured out except you’re not seeing anything while hunting so maybe you don’t! If you don’t like our suggestive help then that’s your perogative. Something is spooking them at your site but that ain’t my problem, good luck figuring it out!

To me the stand looks a little low and not much cover... maybe get one of those blind wraps to got around it to prevent your movement being seen ... even minimum amount could be spooking them. Great looking deer! I too wish I had visible action like that on camera, as I have been predominantly public land. I have only opportunity to go by sign and instinct. Not sure what’s more frustrating my gamble every time, or knowing they are there and not showing when present.

Pulled my cam at the spot close to work on the way home yesterday. Had it out since 11/7. Two decent bucks and a TON of 1.5 yr olds moved on through.
