....and by BOW, I mean Baby On the Way!!! Katie an I wanted to share this moment with our brothers and sisters of the UBP, and here on Bowsite. She is due on June 5th, and we couldn't be happier. On this day of giving thanks, we have so much to be thankful for... especially being given the gift of bringing another little bowhunter into this world. I'll update this thread when we find out if the baby will be a hunter....or a huntress? To be continued....
That’s great Josh! Congrats!!!! : )
Congratulations to you both!
Clever photographs! The Best to the Both, and Tri-th of you!
.......aaaaaannnndddd like all of us on here... You married UP! :) Congrats and best wishes!
Congrats..
Have her wait till June 6th..
That's my birthday:)
Haha! Thanks guys....you all are great! I definitely married UP, and I'll try to see if we can shoot for the 6th, RC!
Good planning. No birthday parties during bow season!
Congratulations!
Congratulations to you and Katie!
That's what I'm thinking, Red!! ;-)
Cool guys. Awesome. Congrats!!!

Thank you for all the congratulations, folks! Katie and I will find out the baby's gender tomorrow afternoon, and I'll post the result here. We almost have the baby room complete....
...and Bear & Muzzy approve! Now I just need to find some of those treestand bowhunter decals and some Rage stickers, and it will be done! ;-)
LOL! Looks great Josh! : )
The results are in....looks like we're having a baby doe!!! :)
The buck to doe ratio is waaaaaaay outta whack at my place too..... But we survive anyhows...;^)
Thanks guys!! We're both excited to be having a little huntress....June can't get here soon enough!
I know just how you feel, Justin! LOL!! :)
June 6th is my prediction:)
If she is born on June 6th, we shall name her RC. She'll learn to shoot a self bow, and will call her daddy a sissy pants wheelie bow guy. ;)
So the milkman shoots a compound?
He sure does, Justin. But it's one of them real short axle to axle Hoyt's, and he's not a very good shot. :p
FYI, tater tot GIFs wont load....
Well folks...yesterday morning, June 3rd at 1:44am, Ella Elizabeth Runkle was born. Katie endured 16 hours of hard labor, and delivered our baby girl. She weighed in at 7 lbs and 1 oz, and is 19.5” in length. She is a strong girl, and is a blessing to our growing family. Katie and I would like to thank you all, who have sent positive thoughts, well wishes, and prayers our way over the past few months. We’re looking forward to taking her home, and getting settled in. I foresee a lot of sleepless nights ahead, so I plan on spending more time checking in on the PA forum of Bowsite! :)
Congrats to you both and welcome Ella! I wish you a long and happy life filled with good friends and loving family!
Congratulations to you both. Another miracle of Gods blessings. Welcome Ella!!
Congrats Josh!
She’s a keeper!
Josh,
Congrats!! Beautiful little girl. Glad everyone is doing well.
Congrats Josh and tell Katie we said GOOD JOB! ;-) Love the name, BTW!
All the Best to your newest little family member, Ella, and to ALL of your family!
Hey Josh, 16 hours????? I’m thinking Katie should get (hunting)priority on Opening Day this year! ;-)
Congrats Josh, but wasn't she supposed to come June 6th? :)
Thanks guys! Katie says thank you too!
Perry...I’ve already offered to be in diaper duty on opening day of archery season. Katie definitely earned some primo hunting time this year! I have a feeling her and my dad are going to be doing most of the killing this year. ;)
RC...I mentioned that to Katie, and asked her to hold out another 72 hours, but she just glared at me at squeezed my hand a little tighter....then told me she wished it wasn’t my hand she was death gripping!
Nice!!!:) you best take mom out for a nice supper!
Remember this, You will like her for ever. You will like her for always. As long as she is Ella, your Ella she will always be. Happy Fathers Day
Dale, you bet I’m taking her out for a nice dinner! Already making reservations for the pig roast at the annual 5C Doe Hunt this September! (I’ll probably take her to some fancy joint between now and September, as well). ;)
Very beautiful words, Boris. I read them, as well as everyone’s posts in this thread to Ella, right before I swaddled her in for the night....by that I mean the next 2 hours! Tomorrow afternoon we will make our journey home with her.
CONGRAT'S!!!! It's so nice to hear some good news! Enjoy her!!!!
Pa. that was our nite nite song to our kids. They would not go to bed unless we sang that song. Also, get the book "love you for ever"
Welcome to the tribe Ella!
Congrats Josh n fam!!
Boris, i have audio of my 8 yr old singing that song when she was 2-3. Almost tear up still to this day hearing her tiny voice sing those words....
SnS Mine are 29 and 23. I miss those days.
Josh. This December 28th, Ill be giving my little girl Jami, the one I took home from the hospital just yesterday, to a young man that fits my family well. Hes a bowhunter first, trad and new Hoyt, he drives an F250, does all his own work around the house- backhoe, skidsteer, electrical degree etc. He does fish for bass however..... Oh well.:)
Dont forget to stop and spend each little girl moment, stuffed animals, dolls, parties, first boyfriend, first breakup, pretty dresses and all. Dance with her. Im sure youll be fine. She owns you already lolol
From a campout not long ago lol Jami in red, is making sure her uncle is teaching his daughter the proper way to shoot a bow:)
That is awesome, Dale! Sounds like your daughter found the kind of son-in-law we all hope for. They do grow up way too fast, and not a moment should be taken for granted. We’re all a pretty blessed bunch.
Dale- I remember that year.....................................I was up in my camp as your group was heading out on the course. Boy, those kids grow up fast! ;-)
Awesome, Josh. My daughter will be 50 in 4 years.
And yes I keep agitating her about it:)
All 3 of my kids making sure their uncle knows what hes doing lololol
Of course Im looking too :)
Almost been a week since we’ve been home, and mama & Ella are doing great! Big sis Daisy has been a great helper, too!
Bear has been more than willing to give his full support.
...and...it’s never to early to begin teaching the benefits of antler restrictions, and learning to count points before you shoot.
Today Katie and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary. This is the first year we didn’t travel out of town...go to some fancy place for dinner...spend money on some extravagant gift for each other. Today was different...today our gift was family and each other. Waking up every 2-3 hours and realizing what a gift God had given us. A common theme throughout this thread, has been fathers and mothers recalling the special moments with their own children. Pictures are priceless, so everyone post up the ones you love the most. I know this is an archery hunting site, but we are all family after all! :)
Hey Pa. You much be very proud of that BIG SISTER HELPER GIRL,DAISY. It takes a special girl to help take care of her little sister. Great job Daisy
Wonderful photos and family! Congratulations to you and your wife!
Our two kids are grown and gone and it happened in an instant. Now our daughter has three children - a six-year old boy and almost two-year old twins.
I have so many fond memories of our kids growing up and now stated to make more memories with the grandkids.
Great pics Josh!
I'll add one.
