Son’s first bow kill 12/1
Connecticut

On Saturday, 12/1, my son killed his first deer with the bow, a fat spike. Set in his stand around 2:00. Just before 4:00, this spike walked in.
Less than 15 yards.
Deer piled up at 50 yards.
Private land in Roxbury.
Damn, I couldn’t go with him.
We are in Oregon for the weekend.
May he enjoy the spoils of his hunt. Maybe that is why he got the deer in the first place. No parent pressure. Make him a bacon wrapped backstrap on the grill (400F+, 5 minutes on each side until the bacon is scorched) with whatever side dish he fancies.
NOTE: There are no visible wounds. Is that a mounted decoy? What kind of weapon did he use? Did the deer die of a hart attack? Hart exploding secret device? Intense concentrated looks? Notme new girl syndrome?
Congrats to your son bud!!!
Six, it would die from frustration and confusion..lol
Great Job!! Tell him Congrats!
Six, my bad.
It was a double lung pass through, using a Slick Trick Standard.
Due to my son’s work schedule and other commitments, he hasn’t been able to get out much.
This was only my son’s second time out this season.
As an added bonus, I have the video of the arrow impact.
When I get home I’ll figure out how I can post that.
Congrats to both of you !
To your son, congrats. And here’s to many more!
Excellent! You never forget that first bow kill!
We always enjoy hunt details when someone decides to share their success. Imagination is our fix. Thank you.
That's great! Just 2 years to get a deer with a bow is ahead of the curve.
Congrats!! Good for him, nice shooting
Congrats to your son Tom.
Ok devil's advocate, Did he use a long bow, recurve, compound, cross bow, pile of corn etc... It doesn't really matter, still awesome.
Ok back to the other thread
Nice, reminds me of my first archery deer, that was almost 40 years ago and I still remember all the details!
