I have no idea what any of that means. What does the Lebanon Green Store do?

I know absolutely nothing about them but I would only assume that the deer may be not have been tagged (still attached until processed). The butcher I use won't take them unless all tagging/reporting is complete.

Jeff posted on 11/30 he had decided to close. Too much time, work, no vacations, holidays, family time. The deer are being released by DEEP tomorrow morning. I think he should not have advertised his services and accepted deer if he knew this was coming down. I dont know why the confiscation of deer, but there must be extenuating circumstances of something illegal. I wish him luck, I used to get breakfast sandwiches or a great bacon burger for lunch after hunting or fishing the area.

Jeff's post is not true, my deer was at the store this morning and had no tag on it. I had a picture from harvest that I could match to the visible arrow wounds. It certianly was not a donation deer. My deer is now hanging in my garage for me to cut up myself.

That sucks . I butcher all my own deer and try to hunt when I know I can fit the process in now . That truly sucks all the time and work to harvest and bring it somewhere and almost lose it from someone's neglect. Hope everyone gets there harvest back or properly butchered.

I have a great butcher. And he is cheap. Does great work fully accredited with the state. . Might not look like a million bucks but he has a cooler. And small meat room and you get all your deer not a portion of it . Just a small mom and pop shop. Just a week ago they had 35 deer hanging in the meat room. I was surprised when I picked my stuff up today and they were getting caught up..

What a waste for the people who worked hard to tag a deer.

That image is a compeling reason for everyone to understand that butchering your own deer is the best way to ensure meat quality and eliminate any issues. It is really not that hard and I can guarantee you can do it on the spot in the woods if you carry the equipment with you in the car.

I have used Amato’s in Katonah, NY for 20+ years now and have always been satisfied. Highly recommended for anyone hunting nearby, like in FF County.

Man that's crazy! I live right down the road from his store. Anytime I've talked to him he's seemed like a good guy. He even took me in the back and showed me where he butchers the deer and everything.
