In summary what’s the difference (other then double the cost) in regards to drawing odds for an elk unit in the draw?

The draw odds in the special pool are generally better since there are usually less people who apply vs the number of tags available in that draw. However,this is not always the case. It's best to check the draw odds.

Yep, just do as the previous post mentioned. Just go into the two draw odds section on the F&G website and you can easily see what it takes to draw each unit dishing out more money compared to the regular price.

If you’re talking a General license you can be guaranteed a tag in the Special for twice the money with half the points. Which also means you get to hunt twice as often. A few hundred bucks will never be my deciding factor. Don’t tell Fish and Game but if they sold a tag for $2000 that required no points I’d be a customer. Maybe I need counseling? Haha Wyoming is the best!
