Cow Tag as 2nd Choice?

Can I apply for a general license as my first choice and a type 6 cow/calf license, which costs less, as my 2nd pick? Last year I drew the cow tag as a leftover in July but I’m thinking if I don’t draw why wait. Instead just get the cow tag on my original application.

Cow tags are separate drawing , independent of other tags and drawings.

So they can be applied for at the same time but on different applications?

Thanks Pam I appreciate the help. One more question. Can a kid apply for a youth license on the same application as his dad to make sure they either both draw as a party or neither draws?

Yes, but only for the Regular Draw. If you want to enter a youth in the Special Draw they have to pay the full adult price.

I guess that’s a problem. With 1 point they stand a very good chance of drawing in the Special. But in the regular it’s not likely they will draw with 1 each. The big bucks is their only option if they really want to hunt in 2019.
