Guys,

Was thinking about coming out in January with my 12year old. Was looking at the Taos Co. area, for no other reason as it’s the closest large amount of Blm area. Driving an RV and hoping to stay at an rv park or in the desert if possible. Is this a decent area for numbers of coyotes? Not looking for any hotspots, just want to have a good time with my 12 year old

Thanks

I don't know much about coyote hunting. I do know Taos Co. is mostly high elevation and cold. The southern part of the state, thinking Eddy County by Carlsbad, has a lot of BLM and some lower elevation NF (Guadalupe Mtns) and used to have fair numbers of coyotes when I was growing up there. Sitting Bull Falls SW of Carlsbad is pretty scenic and is in the NF with BLM touching. Side trip to Carlsbad Caverns is worthwhile.

ive seen a few coyotes in unit 50 west of the rio grande gorge but I wouldn't say high numbers.
