Son got a new shotgun for Christmas wanted to spend a weekend hitting some WIHA, where do the numbers appear to be strong? Not looking for any exact location, just general areas to take my son on his first pheasant hunt and get the lab out? Any input would be much appreciated, thanks!

Hit and miss about every where. NW always the strongest but you can find them in other areas as well. You won't be able to drive on the roads out here for quite sometime. 2 plus inches of rain yesterday covered with up to 10 inches snow today. Road were already mushy. If it is really cold you would be able to drive them in the morning but be careful. Hill City area does have a lot of WIHA.

If you have dogs. Good WIHa along the Ford cut off. A great Patch by some feedlots by Kinsley and a bunch of birds at Byron Walker. It just snowed 5-6" out west here. I'd be out looking for tracks by noon tomorrow cruise WIHA till you find tracks and then go get em.

Not sure how close you are to this spot in Reno county but there is a wiha where Arlington Road Crosses Silva Road and there was a lot of birds in it. Not sure how hard it has been hunted this year. If your close to it try it.
