I’ve not seen a single deer in 2 weeks it’s like they just shut down. Coincidentally I’ve noticed bobcats on my land showed up around the same time. My question is this is it late season woes or will bobcats actually run your deer off?

I observed a bobcat at 0725, yesterday. Fifteen minutes later a doe and fawn picked their way through the same area that the bobcat exited. No, I don't think there is a problem; and, apparently, neither do the deer!

Late season woes. Those deer are feeding elsewhere.

Saw my first bobcat this year. I was alerted by a doe snorting. It was following the bobcat about 30 yds behind.

Are bobcats legal to take in Illinois now?

Information can be found in the Illinois hunting & trapping digest: https://www.dnr.illinois.gov/hunting/Documents/HuntTrapDigest.pdf Yes, bobcat season is open in select counties - map on page 44; but you must have obtained a bobcat permit prior to attempting to take a bobcat. Furbearer trapping info on page 45; furbearer hunting info on page 47 of current hunting digest.

Tom. Got a 30 second video of the bobcat. It’s really a small one. Got trail camera photos of a large one at the same location
