My son has been fishing winnipesaukee since it opened 1/1. Ice is 10 inches Tuftonboro up thru moultonboro. Shacks are out!

Well, time to go north if you want to go fishing :)

I know guys are fishing in the Berkshires. Seems central and eastern MA is highly questionable... though the colder water that is coming as the week goes on should help.

So I'm North of Boston what do you guys recommend for a good place to ice fishing down by the Berkshires?

I just checked a small pond in Hamilton and it had 2" of ice about 15' from shore. It was frozen all they way across, but was pretty obvious that about 50' from shore was brand new ice, probably much thinner. Hopefully we'll be in business by next weekend.

Hate to be that guy. But please be safe. This cold will definitely help a bunch. I’d rather fall from my tree than go thru the ice.
