IS AL GORE RIGHT ??

Mid Jan. Lincoln cty . 30 degrees & bright Sun . 2 inches of snow on the ground . Lake in front of the house has open water .
The Praire River in the back yard has open water with Ducks floating past . A flock of Doves are picking around in the garden .
2 Deer walked by with sunblocker on . The wildlife has got to be loving it . My 2 best ice fishing spots are open water . WOW .
Give it a few days. They changed it to climate change since global warming didn’t always fit quite right.
I’m not complaining though
We still have 0 snow cover in Racine co. Not much ice on the water either. I think I heard 40 again at some point this week so my golf clubs are still in my car just in case. I’ll take it!
1892 was record warm today, 60*.
These threads crack me up. There's a difference between a warm up/cold snap (weather) and seasonal averages, both moisture and temperature, changing over periods of time (climate)
So Gore is probably correct. I have to assume he Googled it, being the one who invented the internet. ?? ;)
Nov. was way below average.....
Shhh that might not fit the narrative
Al Gore is a greasy bloated hypocrite, but even at that I'm sure he's been right once or twice in his life about something. Not sure it's global warming though.
"Some of the bigger lakes around me in SW Wisconsin are mostly open." And that means what??
I don't think he meant anything other than it's been so mild that lakes aren't frozen. Definitely an odd year.
Means it's time to get the boat out!
Ruger, Al Gore is left which means he will never be right!

My weather "person" gives me a 5 degree guarantee and that is as far out as tomorrow. Weather experts can not predict the path of storms (last hurricane I saw had over 180 predictive models and they had been watching it for days). Snow storm predicted totals are always in an inch range as 1-4. That said the earth is probably warming as it has been since the ice age. Still the hottest year on record in WI was in 1936, decades ahead of mans massive carbon foot print. Just 20 million years ago the Grand Canyon was covered in water and the mighty Colorado began carving its gorges. Follow the money on this one folks, and of course when any one doubts "global warming" they are called deniers rather than winning the argument with facts.
The earth is warming, the question is how much is a natural shift vs man made. There was an ice age once, and with no human influence much of the earth began to warm.
Hmmm, the Sun is cooling and we are beginning to enter another glacial period. But glaciers are not advancing and the Earth is warming, HMMM.
Lol .. want snow? Cold weather? Iron county has both... Thursday is will be -2...
That’s it. I’m buying stock in tin foil.
Drop Tine that would make you a rich man. Both sides of the isle gone and went crazy.
We are currently in a cooling period and have been for a few years. That`s why the liberal heads exploded because the so called "science" didn`t fit their narrative. Lardass Al is a clown.
Yes, it is all about more taxes. Another Liberal agenda.

"We are currently in a cooling period and have been for a few years."
Here is the raw data from the last 8 years (all years previous to 2010 thru 1880 are lower than these temps):
2010 0.7
2011 0.57
2012 0.61
2013 0.64
2014 0.73
2015 0.86
2016 0.99
2017 0.9
Data from late 2018 indicates that it will be the 4th warmest year since 1880.
So, 2016 was the warmest on record, 2017 is the 2nd warmest on record and prelim 2018 shows the 4th warmest on record.
"They changed it to climate change since global warming didn’t always fit quite right."
When was this change? The IPCC has been around since 1988. Any guesses to what the CC stands for?
Al Gore has NEVER been right about ANYTHING! It's Mother Nature and it's just they way it is! Evolution, let it GO! Why does everyone think we have to change things! Enjoy the weather, we'll pay for it later this year or next! Why is it some folks always stick their nose's where they don't belong, which it "We'll make it better or change it"! Mother Nature knows what's best!

Climate change - In the the early seventies we were worried about global cooling. Some suggested melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers.
I should have left Gore's name out of this . He's a real political dingbat .
The reason I asked was when I was a kid we walked uphill thru 2 feet of snow at - 10 to school . Times have changed .
Climate Change is the biggest "Wealth Re-distribution" Ponzi scheme going. The science has been attacked and discredited on every level. For ever model that shows warming and can find 3 that don`t.
The fact that the science cannot be repeated or tested with the exact same result from the same exact analysis proves it`s NOT definitive fact based science. When they got busted altering models and bending the results to match the narrative is where they lost most people.
Polar bears were supposed to be extinct and we should be fishing in downtown NY and Miami....none of which is remotely the case.

Yes times have changed, now they would've called school off. LOL
Right until next week when we struggle to hit the teens.
I feel Al Gore is right also, Global Warming is real!! it started at the point in time the Glaciers that were here, right where I am currently sitting, started melting away.

Franklin - "The science has been attacked and discredited on every level. For ever model that shows warming and can find 3 that don`t." This just isn't true. There is a consensus among the world's scientists that this is a real issue that needs to be addressed. We can't keep sticking our heads in the ground and ignoring the data.
IS AL GORE RIGHT ?? My question might be: What's the down side to leaving the planet in better shape than we found it? You can get almost any answer you want by how you ask the question. If we asked "Did you know that Hillary owns over 50% interest in the crossbow companies " Would people still buy em?
The fact that we're discussing this on the internet he invented proves he's right. Abraham Lincoln told me that last week.
Is it nature or humans doing? Can we fix this or is it just politically driven?
I was reading last night about the glaciers melting at such a expedited rate that it’s diluting the salt water which allows the fresher water freeze at a higher temperature than pure saltwater and that’s whats allowing the ice pack to expand around Antarctica.
And throw in the hole in the O-zone, wait, it's closed, no, theirs two, no, it's closed, oh, now theirs a hole, wait no there isn't.
LOL " From: lame crowndip 16-Jan-19 IS AL GORE RIGHT ?? My question might be: What's the down side to leaving the planet in better shape than we found it? True that pure water freezes at 0C, and if you add to it (making it unpure) freezing point depression kicks in. But pure saltwater? Where is the definition of that? BTW nothing about seawater is pure ...
Freezing, the crystallization of water to ice as it undergoes phase change, purifies the water/ice. Frozen water crystals contain very little else even if they surround contaminants. freezing is a common purification and separation process.
The climate really began to warm when the Raven xbow came out. Just another reason not to use them. I've been telling people that the xbow is going to be the end of civilization and now look....the glaciers are melting.
Hayward winter weather has been pretty good so far. Temps mostly decent. Enough ice on the lakes to support the usual recreational activities. Only had to plow once and that was sort of optional. Could drive over it real easy. Still enough to snowmobile, ski, and see tracks. Speaking of tracks, not a single deer track around my place since gun season and those were on my neighbors property. We usually have a few that hang around.
Can someone counter the stats shown by Amoebus above? Coincidence?
His stats show that from 2010-2017 the average temperature has been increasing. The earth is about 4.5 billion years old and science has yet to settle on an exact age. What they do not show is a definitive man made cause or effect. His facts should be taken in context.
As Camp wisely said "I think everyone agrees clean air and water is a good thing. Being more energy efficient is a good thing".
Being lectured by a bunch of liberal elite millionaires who fly to foreign countries in private jets and stay in posh hotels to develop a plan to force the rest of the civilized world into unproven conservation efforts is not the answer.
HF43
About as bad as 543 governing 300 million and we pay them to live better than we do.
Stats from Amoebus:
2016 was the warmest on record, 2017 is the 2nd warmest on record and 2018 shows the 4th warmest on record.
I take that in context but it is one hell of a coincidence that the last 3 years were 1st, 2nd, and 4th highest on record.
Fact: people believe what they want to believe.
There are organizations that can refute every single claim from a 'pro' climate change group with actual science and fact. There is NO consensus amongst scientists around the world....the only "consensus" is in the ones that believe it. Just look into how they came up with that ridiculous...."97% of all scientists agree" line....it`s comical. Yet there are people that will still use that debunked statement as fact.
If this was accurate, repeatable science then all "models" would be the same....but they are not. What Amoebus posted was an example of a "model"....meanwhile there are dozens that show different information.
Man made climate change cannot be proven to a scientific certainty. Just like Brown E. stated.....it`s whatever you are into.
Models predict the future. What Amnbus posted were stats. Big difference.
Now you could say bus posted only a small sample size or select sample size but what he posted are facts.
"Can someone counter the stats shown by Amoebus above? Coincidence?"
Yes - his quote states they are the warmest on record. How long have we been recording- 136 years. That isn't even a blink of an eye in the earths existents of 4.5 billion years. Temperature cycles up for a few hundred years - then cycle down. So when somebody says it was colder or I remember more snow when I was a kid - therefor its global warming is ridiculous. That time frame is like a millisecond on the scale of 4.5 billion years and means absolutely nothing.
Is the earth warming or cooling - absolutely - is it mans fault - absolutely not. In fact there isn't anything man could do to influence the earth temp even if we tried!
You add to this the ridiculous claims from the left about Global warming and the sky is falling crap since the 1970's. There isn't enough time to list the outrageous claims by the left/"experts"/"scientist" that never came true. Many of these scientist have been fraudulent in skewing the data in their "scientific" models that then become talking points for the left.
No Tweed....he posted stats derived from THEIR model....those are not "facts".
If they were "facts" every scientific model would be able to come to the same conclusion. The problem is they don`t. Not to mention groups have found that some of these "models" had faulty information programed into them to bend the results to the groups narrative. Remember Mann`s "hockey stick" theory that everyone claimed for years was the definitive proof that Global Warming existed? Today that theory is considered a joke and he was even sued in court after they found out he had manipulated the science and his models were faulty.
If you said that from this day forward no person, organization or government could profit or make a single dollar off of "Climate Change science" you would see 95% of the Climate Change community collapse.
Woodguy - Can't argue your point one bit.
I read in todays newspaper that 2018 was the 4th warmest year on record .
As I sip my coffee I look out the window in the - 27 degrees air & watch 30 Birds fighting over the Bird Feeders . The Bird world has Bullies too .
Wait for the new term...."Climate Chaos". It covers everything.
Capt Mike, you are wrong again!
When China's air is clear & clean I'll put my pipe away until I'll keep puffing.
Ok, BW, that is the definitive answer. Guess I’ll start saving to buy my carbon credits! Lol!
I hope he is,,,, this time next year I will be hunting in Texas,,, my wife is going to retire in April,,,, tried to get her to retire 3 years,, ago,,,,, she is too driven... we made a deal.,, she gets to go to Alaska again, and she will go to Africa with me,,, since its safer than Mexico,,,, ha ha
From next year until I die, I will be hunting our winters in Texas
GH, congrats! Hope you enjoy. Alaska, Africa and Texas, all great destinations!
Ground ,I have a big decision to make this summer . The Wife retires in April . Daughter # 1 says move here in AZ . It was 76 today .
And I said , " yes Mollie & it was a 113 when I was there in July ."
But I am getting tired of winter .
You could wipe your rearend with that graph....it only 1 of a 1000 models. When you see "Berekley or UK" in the description you know it`s partisian.
Do you remember when the tobacco industry had studies "proving" tobacco doesn't cause cancer? The petroleum industry is using the same tactics.
I love Wisconsin. Especially summer and fall. I’m hardy enough to go golfing and screw around outside if temps are around 35. This weather sucks though and I can’t wait to move to a warmer climate. Just a couple more years and I’m outa here.
Its Called GloBULL warming for a reason. Its new and improved with 100% more bull.
I thought Al was a leftie ?
There have been many studies on both sides of many issues. This really means nothing.
Franklin -"You could wipe your rearend with that graph....it only 1 of a 1000 models."
The models are used to predict what the climate will do in the future. What smokey posted wasn't a model.
Well, all kinds of debate about source of the problem. But I would not buy any low lying property along the SE coasts. Those annual 500 year storms are a killer, ain't they? Pretty wild watching a chunk of ice the size of Long Island break off of Greenland and crash into the sea. That is one big ice cube.
Ruger,,, I hear ya,,,, there is some great bowhunting in AZ..... me no way I will not be in the north from May till early Dec..... than we plan on being gone now and I want to be in Texas, with tolerant weather, and hunting seasons, still on,,,,,,,
I want to hunt exotics on ranches in my golden years,,, ha ha
Ruger, same issues here! May start spending Dec to April in AZ.
Its definitely going to be SC for my wife and I. A nice home right on the shores of lake moultrie. I’ll come visit you AZ boys since I have family there too.
I will never consider moving south of Eau Claire, WI. Could have had a house free in Florida. Told the wife at that time if she wants to live there, we will have to split up. No way in hell am I going to live somewhere to sweat and rot. I don't know how I will work it with my wife, but desire to go somewhere without seasons or from temps of nothing to way to hot or wake up everyday to look at a desert is 0. It would be like the thought of killing myself, it just aint going to happen. I love WI and the seasons. My favorites are Fall, Spring, Winter and Summer is last as long as it does not get above 80 degs. If it's above 80, it is miserable for me anyway.
Live2hunt - Same here. I refuse to move south of hwy 8. They call No. WI God's country for a reason. My wife loves it here too.
Hoot, your lucky your wife loves it here. I don't know how to deal with my situation if my wife keeps going on about not living here. I didn't sign up for this thinking I would move somewhere else!!!
I told my wife when we moved north after 5 years if you don’t like it we’ll move back down by the kids. 12 years later we’re still up here. But I listen to her and if she mentions she wants to go see the kids that’s what we do. After hunting in Missouri a couple couple times and spending time there we talked about moving there when I retire. She can work anywhere as long as she has a internet connection.
Still have the four seasons but winter isn’t as long. Good hunting but no bears to chase. Land values are about the same as here. Leases are more affordable but I could never root for the Cardinals.
Live2hunt, Maybe you can compromise and take her south for a couple winter months. I am lucky that both my wife and I are not fond of cold and snow anymore and we have a lot of relatives in Tucson and Phoenix area. There are a lot of trails for biking and hiking in the desert mountain areas. For me, that beats shoveling snow!
DT, we had the same offer for Springfield Missouri when my in-laws moved there. Wisconsin has it all, the lakes and streams are a dime a dozen, Steelhead streams, Great fishing of all sorts, Winter sports (Ice Fishing), spring sports, summer sports, land to hunt, clean air, a lot of the pests are kept away by winter, on and on and on. For me, no where else compares except maybe, MN, MI, Idaho or Alaska. To be honest, I would much rather shovel snow than mow the yard any day. I have alway's told her I would take a trip anywhere she wants to go, I have no issue with that. But when I here "I don't want to live here" that is a whole other issue, and we have a cabin here that she loves to go to!!
Live, my wife says the same thing, "I dont like winters", "I hate living in the sticks", "only people I see is the mailman driving by". When we go to the closet big town, Marinette, 30 miles, she says that traffic sucks and it is busy. lol. I love the change of seasons and don't think I could live anywhere without them. I love the "sticks" too. Some day I might be to old to live this life, but for now I wont change it. I spent 25 yrs living in Kenosha and working in Chicago and I dont miss those places at all. Well gotta go, Iv'e got 2hrs of snow blowing to do :).
Live, when she says “I don’t want to live here” is she talking about the current housing situation or the state? Women like to talk in riddles and you have to read between the lines.
I hope things work out for you.
Live2hunt- My wife is originally from No. WI. We retired here 17 years ago. Kids live in SW WI so it's not that far to visit them.
DT, she's talking about the State. I'm sure we will get into a couple arguments over it this week and the rest of the winter. Getting old. The last time I told her right out, "Well, find a place you want to live and we can sell the Cabin and I will buy or keep the house. I am not leaving WI."
As a person that has lived in 7 different states I can offer this advice .
Don't live & die in 1 state . The USA is huge & every area is so different . Get out & see how others live . You may be shocked at what you discover. You only live Once .
Live2hunt, Nice that you have a cabin. Now, if I had a cabin it would be harder for me to leave for long. My other thought is building a small house with nice kitchen and exclusive master bath (happy wife). It needs to be built on hill overlooking lake(happy wife). Considering buying a lot near Delta as we live in Eau Claire now.
Ruger, that's what vacations are for, Not moving!!!
Ruger - I was born in WI and we moved to California for two years and then back to WI. What a f%*ked up state CA. is. Toto there's no place like home.
Had a vacation home in FL for 17 years that I sold 4 years ago. Have not missed it in the least. I enjoy our seasons, but must admit to becoming less tolerant of the cold. No desire to move anywhere else but I do enjoy vacations to different places.
Ca or FL would have been great 50 years ago. Not anymore . Heres my ranking in order.
Best hunting : ID, KS , NV,UT , ILL , WI
Best fishing : KS, NV , MO , ID , WI
Best quality of life : WI , KS , UT ,
Best schools : WI , KS , UT ,
Best bang for your dollar : WI, MO, KS
I would've never thought there was good fishing in any of those states. Especially Kansas and Nevada.
Tweed everytime we hunted NV or ID we would live off the Trout we caught in the ponds & Mtn streams . Brooks, Browns, Goldens & Rainbows . Amazing . A quick story . I whacked my Mulie & stayed in camp Wed to cut wood & make trout & fryed potatoes . I caught 18 Trout & was cleaning them for supper when a Warden rode in on horse back . I offered him a Coke & we chatted for an hour . As he climbed on his horse he asked me how many we had in camp . I told him 6 . He said " thats amazing that the other 5 hunters caught their limit of Trout , gave them to you & hustled into the mountains to hunt ". He smiled & rode off .
Dang Ruger, you are doing your homework. One large problem for me with any of those choices - my grandkids live here in WI.
Hope you guys can load this from the WSJ. Interesting explanation on why the polar temps are upon us. I should check the temps in Fairbanks to see if they are warmer.

I’ll take 90 and muggy over this shit anytime. I love WI but I HATE this cold. I’d much rather be swatting mosquitoes than pulling icicles from my beard.
LOL, 2 days of cold compared to Months of relentless heat day after day after day. I will stay here. It's a small price to be able to live in a place like this. I've already looked past the next 2 days and see a great weekend to get out on the ice. No Boats, No bugs, No idiot's with boats.
Knob . When we were packing horses with the rancher for a drop camp the year before a warden stopped to warn us about forest fire conditions & told us the streams & ice cream cone lakes were over stocked & to keep all the trout we could eat under 9 inches .
The lake ( about 2 ac ) haf schools of fish swimming by constantly . That was 1983 .
My old hunting buddies tell that drought has wiped out most of the fish & Wolves have wiped out the Elk .
Tweed , the fishing in NV was amazing . Lake Tahoe , Truckie river , lake Piramid , Ryepatch impoundment .
1 Example : Ryepatch . We were fishing for White Bass , Catfush & Trout . My partner catxhes a 3 lb Walleye & throws ut back bitching about roughfish .
i caught more Walleyes in 14 years in NV than 40 years in WI .
The NV state record is about 19 l bs.
Hook a 30lb Cutthroat trout & you forget about Muskies .
I take issue with your term..."decent Democrat". Is there such an animal.
Camp, take a look at the 1962 tax brackets: Single filers top rate 91% over 200,000. Married filing joint 91% top rate over 400,000. If this country doesn't start making the rich pay more, those of us in the middle class will suffer, but worse our children and grandchildren will struggle.
JFK was a decent democrat? Sorry that he was assassinated and all but I is one of the most overrated presidents ever.
Black, make the rich pay more? They already pay the lions share. Nobody owes anyone else. Live within your means, cut the social giveaways. Regardless what you have, do you want to give 90% of it to others?
Most over quoted sentence by an overrated president. Actions speak louder than words
His foreign policy was just terrible and his thin skin blue blood showed.
OKd the bay of pigs, tooken to task by Krushev (sp) which hurt his ego and led him to needlessly escalating tensions which led to the Cuban missile crisis, began to take over where the French had failed in Viet Nam, supported that Ba'athist coup in Iraq. The "what you can do for your country" was said because he wanted people to support heavier government. Johnson's Great Society was inspired by Kennedy and promoted during his 1960 campaign in Appalachia.
It took Nixon all he had to undo Kennedy's foreign policy and we still have Kennedy's social policy.
X2 Tweed....he was assassinated by his own country for a reason. He was morally bankrupt and could never be trusted. The Kennedy family is a giant shit stain on our country.
^harsher langauge than I would use but what can you expect from a family who's patriarch got rich from organized crime and used that to get into politics.
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
Capt You say the rich pay the lions share. Point is middle class Americans are struggling while the extremely wealthy add to their millions and billions. They can afford to help "spread" the wealth before our middle class disappears. The extreme millionaires and billionaires have made their $$ by the help of their less fortunate fellow Americans and once they have reached a ridiculous level of wealth, do they really need to have more? I like the way it was tax-wise in the 60's. $200,000 in 1962 would be about 1.7 M today. Someone bringing in that kind of annual income does not need a tax brake. The wealth distribution in this country has dramatically changed with technology and changes are needed before we are nothing more than an oligarch controlled society. Greed has no limit. I agree Kennedy had some moral issues but compared to the present man, no comparison.
blackwolf, just because someone is better off it doesn't mean they don't earn that money. Most of those people that are rich as you call them are business owners. Tax them more it gets passed down to us. So in the end we are not saving anything.
Get rid of the income tax and use a sales tax where EVERYONE contributes not just people who have jobs.
Interesting concept. What would the sales tax have to be raised to, 10%?
Rut, when it comes to the Walton family, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Besos , and the countless CEO's making absurd amounts of money, "earning it" takes on a whole new dimension. I am not speaking of small business owners who should get breaks.
Richest 20% pay 86.8% of all Federal Income taxes Second Richest 20% pay 12.9% of all Federal Income taxes Middle Income 10% pay 4.2% of all Federal Income taxes Second lowest 20% pay - 1.7% of all Federal Income taxes or ZERO Lowest 20% pay -2.2% of all Federal Income taxes or ZERO
It is estimated that in 2018 44% or all wage earners will pay zero federal income taxes.
Increasing the sales tax would hit the lower 40% of wage earners the hardest.
The National Debt is now 21 Trillion and last year alone it was 779 Billion. You can't tax your way out of that.
From The New "Democrat Green New Deal "Provides economic security for those unwilling to work". Yes you have it right the revamped democratic party wants to make sure that you the hard working taxpayer will support those unwilling to work. I mean why subject yourself to the demands of an evil corporation (slavery) when your fellow countrymen will provide your financial security.
HF43
Black wolf, you are nothing short of a socialist. Look up the definition of personal responsibility. Then re-read it, as many times as necessary until you understand that each person is responsible for them self. Why should the person who scrimped and saved and worked hard while in school so that they could get a good job, have to pay for those who found it easier to go out to the taverns, play ball, go fishing or hunting or whatever while the others were working and studying? Life may not be fair but trying to take from those who make is a sure recipe for disaster.
Blackwolf why should someone be punished financially for doing something that made him money? We all had/ have that opportunity.
Don't get me wrong, I truly believe the system is broken. But the repair should have started a long long time ago.
Greed and the love of money isn't good for anyone.
But taking from a person who made something of and for themselves isn't right.
Legalizing gambling and weed isn't a fiscally way to try and balance a broken budget either. Many states, are doing it though because it's sooo broken.
I am not criticizing anyone, but. I don't understand the hate of those with money. My wife and I are far from well off, but we are happy. I could make more money but be miserable. Those are choices I made, I don't dislike people that are "rich" because of that. I guess because I am in a lower tax bracket I am supposed to think/believe differently than I do.
I agree rut. I basically live pay check to pay check with a mediocre retirement staring in my near future. Who did it? Me. Who could change it, me. Who is happy the way it is, me. One of my employees has in laws that moved from Waukegan Illinois to Kenosha because the free benefits were better. How do we fix it??? Who knows.
Pasq, a stray cat will continue to show at the doorstep until milk is no longer put out. At that point it becomes necessary for that cat to feed itself. No different for humans.
Capt, I am an independent voter who has voted mostly Republican until my awareness of the strong "right" turn of the Republican Party away from "humanitarian" values over the last 20 years or so. I share social democratic values, quite different from "socialism" I also respect any one else views, I am always open to ideas. I value "science based" ideas and want to leave this earth as best place I can for my 5 grandchildren. I think my values have changed largely from 40 years of working retail health industry talking to thousands of different N. Wisconsin people in most communities north from and including Green Bay across to La Crosse. I think our nation is at a crossroad and I pray that "compromise" from "left" and "right" will lead to a solid plan. I don't see Democrats or Republicans having the best course right now. Too far "left" and too far "right". Capitalism can only go so far until it crashes and burns. I hope we get more "middle roaders" to guide it better.
Blackwolf, I would not disagree that the burden on taxpayers should be lessened. However, I would never consider taking from anyone who has legitimately earned their money. I'd guess the answer lies in minimizing social programs that do little other than to encourage people to take advantage of them. Currently, politicians are all too willing to use taxpayer dollars to offer subsidies, perks and a plethora of freebies in exchange for the votes. I do not know how far "capitalism" has to go before crashing and burning but I am very confident that burdensome social programs will crash and burn a country much quicker.
Much of this would be eliminated if we got rid of the income tax and used the sales tax.
That way everyone contributes equally when they spend it. No one should be taxed for making it.
It would also encourage saving and investing money rather than spending.
I think the democrats have gone way too far over the edge in the last 10 years. It’s hard to relate to them being a blue collar guy I can’t afford to keep paying for feel good programs.
It seems like a totally different Democrat party than I learned about in history class.
Well 34 inches in 10 days seems a bit over the norm . Maybe Gore is full of BS .
Ruger,
Just heard today that what you are experiencing is "weather" which is far different than Climate Change. I guess the two are not connected.
Ruger, so you are saying this is normal?
Want a good read for this time of year, Dan Simmons- The Terror, historical fiction. It was on AMC last year as a series but the book is always better, I just shiver when reading it.
Camp 2 dukes, that would be totally acceptable by the dems. They are all about acceptance of whatever makes you happy. As long as you agree with them and vote for them.
