Anyone hunt bears in the Adirondacks spot and stalk style? If so what’s your primary (or even secondary) strategy? Thanks! Mike

I have worked as a consultant Forester marking and laying out timber sales on industrial timberlands inside the Adirondack Park for several decades. I have never seen a b bear during this time working in the park. I have seen them working on industrial timberlands on the Tug Hill Plateau. With only about 300 - 400 bears taken in NY’s NZ each year, I think you would have a better chance at winning the lottery. But, I suppose there’s a chance, and just being in theses areas is a great time. I think your time would be better spent, gun hunting there during the deer season that coincides with bear season. Chances of Killing a big ADK buck are much better, with the slim odds of running into a b bear.
