I know some don’t think it’s Sporting but I’ve always wanted since I was a kid to go on a Lion hunt ! Dang, it was more fun and more demanding than I would have ever though ! A dream come true
I was Hunting with Alan Bennett Of Pinnacle Outfitters , I used a Mathews Halon, 300 spined Victory VAP Arrows and a 100 grain Rage Broadhead at 58 pounds and a total arrow weight of 515 grains !

Ron, congratulations that is a beautiful cat and I know you were pleased to get it. Have you ever had a more strenuous hunt? From what I read they inhabit some pretty rough country.

Both Cats were Bowkill and each taken with 1 arrow !
Dave, was a much harder hunt thn I anticipated ! I passed up 2 Lions before killing on the 4th day ! Bill killed the 1st day. Was a very steep and strenuous climb for Bill, he wasn’t able to go with me when the dogs treed my Lion ! Was over a mile to the lion ( gps) and crusty snow over our boots ! I fell 3 times that day, 2 times going to the Lion . Then a mile back, was 1 of the Top 3-4 trips I was ever on ! Between our Outfitter, Dogs , Bill, seeing and treeing 3 lions in 4 days ! Just an absolute Awesome Trip ! Alan also offers Bowhunts for color phase black bear, and bowhunts for elk ! Alan Bennett Pinnacle Outfitters A West Virginia boy too !
