I haven’t heard one way or another if the sept 1st opener was a trial in 2018. Any talk to keep or change?

I have heard no discussion of changing it at this point. Seasons will be finalized in May.

At least one commissioner approached me with the idea of back it off to a mid-point between Sept 1 and the older 4th Saturday in September. His direction seemed to lean to the first Saturday or perhaps the 2nd Saturday. This lines up with the 'theme' of opening on Saturday's. I have NOT seen any such proposal yet though. I personally feel they are looking into avenues to adjust things after what we saw with how many NRs came once it opened Sept 1.

Yeah that September 1st is pretty appealing to get some hunting in before mn opens. But man that sure is different hunting in 90 degree temps!
