This might not be the right venue, but since I only do, social media with fellow hunters, I must reach out. As a former tactical officer, and as of 2pm the Govenor had still not asked for all flags in the state, to be half mast for a fallen officer, as it should be when any officer in the state is killed.......

Than I have to listen on the radio, to the Madison crowd, who say they feel they are under siege, by the presence of their police dept......

what a bunch of assholes..... sorry for the rant but I am that pissed.....

You would have at least thought, that most of the self serving sitting on their ass legislators, would have known this,,,,

I was working on one of the rentals I take care of today. The younger tennant couple were commenting how cops need to quit whining when one gets killed in the line of duty. Their reasoning was they know what they are getting into when they sign up. I couldn't handle it anymore. I told them yes they do know, and they still do it to protect us. I said some other things I am not proud of to them. Having friends and family in law enforcement their words were hitting a nerve.

Sad that so many young adults these days have no clue/respect about so much stuff.

GH, glad you posted it here.

Try having a intelligent conversation or debate with these folks about WHY they don`t like cops. It`s like having a conversation with a door knob....they just spew talking points that they get off the liberal media and internet.

Obama set back this country in race relations 60+ years. Even though I didn’t vote for him I had high hopes he would unify the country. Those thoughts were soon cast aside.

Never once did he condemn the shooting of any of the officers that have put in their last watch.

It goes beyond Obama to include most liberals. You seldom hear any of them reacting to issues like this but you often see them participating in protests against our military, the police and against our country. They are trying to fundamentally change it and could care less about the carnage they leave in their tracks.

GH, I agree, the flags should be lowered. You just need to expect this non-action from a Democratic governor. I am retired but spent 29 years in LE. This mentality is just another part of the new society.

The funny thing is, the same people who say, "they signed up for it" are the same idiots that work at shit jobs but demand $15+/hr. To that I say, "You knew what you were getting paid when you took the job". So yes, YOU SIGNED UP FOR IT.

Coming from a family of cops it makes me sick to see the lack of respect for law enforcement today. Have to agree with DT. Never once did hear or I see Obama praise a police officer or for that matter talk with a fallen officers family.

Evers ordered them half staff yesterday. About the same length of time passed as when Michalski was murdered. Sounds like Milwaukee talk radio politicizing this officer's sacrifice.

I had the kids with me when Rittner left the coroner yesterday. Was a good opportunity to teach the kids what some risk to try to hold together and protect our communities.

I watched the Fox 6 news out of Milwaukee and they did an outstanding job of televising the procession thru the streets. People on overpasses with flags in hand. It must have had 300 cars in the procession.

Several years ago at a Madison City Council meeting one of the members stated they felt uncomfortable with the chief of police there on official business carrying his service gun. Pretty high level of ignorance.

I agree, unfortunately the Liberals/Democratic party and the Media eat this moronic attitude up. It is a sad state of affairs now a days with authority. It sickens me to the point of I watch the local news and some of the old movies if on and You tube so I can choose what I watch. I do not like listening to the crap they force down our throats and I choose not to listen to it.

Glad Evers finlly got it done. Flags are half mast around Hayward. Even the tribal flag was half mast at the casino.

As one who disagrees with just about everything Mr Evers stands for, I do not think that he would not hold a fallen officer in the highest esteem. My guess is there is a state protocol for these things and that it probably takes some coordinated communication between local and state government agencies to insure that these things are done somewhat in unison to make sure one agency doesn't have its flag at half staff while others are not. Lets not try to settle a political score over the life of a brave and heroic member of law enforcement. Now to be specific its Half-Staff is for Flags on land and Half-Mast is for Flags aboard ships.

Thanks for the education hunt43, I knew about the two different terms but did not know there was a difference in how they are to be used.

Evers ordered them at half mast Thursday 2/7 @ noon. And City Hall was covered in blue light as well. Nothing but "total respect and honor" as far as I'm concerned.
