Pollution not Climate

Pi, we've talked about it. I think we've cleaned out the solar system so much that the "pollution filter " has been removed and now we're basically microwaving the earth
Im confused, what the hell does this have to do with bowhunting? A quick google search yielded a place where you guys can hash this shit out... http://www.climate-debate.com/forum/
Another quick google search yielded a temporary solution to all of the extremely loosely related "bowhunting environment" crap you constantly bitch about on this forum. You're welcome.

I'm only posting 1X on this. Pi, BWB22 is a good guy. Loves hunting and has posted on here pretty consistently over the years. I can remember many good points both on saddle threads and other issues from target panic or various firearms things and hunting ideas.
I know he does not like seeing political stuff or things related to the political arena on here. Just wants to enjoy the brotherhood when he steps in here.
You guys can disagree on style, approach or topics. But lets play nice. Nothing good to say, dont say anything.
I'm out.
Will, I could not of said it any better.
Good job bigwoods.no Ill will PI. Been on this site for eons but don’t post to much anymore. This board used to be all about hunting and an occasional post here and there on fishing. It’s wandered away from that. Lot of others guys with good hunting info used to post here but they have disappeared. All and all still good guys here but would be nice to stick on topics of relevance
I have a proposed solution if anyone is willing to listen...how about we begin any non directly hunting related (ie not about equipment, form, tactics, killing, field game care, etc etc) with an acronym such as "NHR- " that way everyone knows the thread is either non- or in this case 'loosely' hunting related and if they don't want to read it or engage, they don't need to click on it.
does that make sense. ie...i've seen threads in other forums about freezers...sorta loosly hunting related, the thread title could be "NHR- deep freezer question upright or chest?" etc or...one of my (and Wills fav topics) fitness...."NHR-tips for scouting while Mountain Biking?" etc.
thoughts?
You don't have to read it never mind contribute to it come on man change the channel it easy.I do it u can to
People just bored no hunting going on looking for something to do.
Well put Will and Proline. Pro nailed it. Will, myself, Proline, and a number of other guys have been around here for a long time. I've been a contributing member for 8 years now. I used to be on here every day, multiple times a day. Any of us "old timers" know how different it used to be, just like what Pro said. You newer guys do not realize this, and I understand that you obviously wouldnt. But it has changed a lot. Theres a lot of guys that used to be very active here that either haven't showed up in the past 2 years or barely ever post anymore. And its because of the bickering and politics that have become pretty regular in the past 2 years. I'm friends with a number of these people and we've talked about it so im not just making this up. Its because it has changed a lot and it's just not as good. This site used to be very rich in just straight bowhunting whitetail content. To be honest, this is why you even questioned how much I use this site. I come on here way less now than ever before. Because I hate reading about people's political opinions. I couldn't be more about free speech but theres so many better forums and outlets for that stuff. If you want to be the reason the hardcore bowhunting guys are moving on from this forum, then by all means keep bickering about politics, its your right to do so. But this forum will continue to change for the worse if that's the case.
Like Will said, I absolutely HATE, DESPISE, political talk. I come on this website instead of going anywhere else on my work breaks so I can read and talk about fun stuff and avoid all the politics that surrounds us in almost every other aspect of life. I feel like this forum just isn't the place for it. We would go years without ever bringing up controversial politics in the past. It was so awesome. It was all about whitetails and fishing in the off season with the occasional off beat topic, but never about politics and no one ever bickered or argued. It was pleasant, all the time. I really wish it would go back to that because there no other forums for us people that only want to talk hardcore bowhunting. This used to be the only remaining place for that, but we are losing that as time goes on.
Winter doldrums !!!! Everyone getting a little antsy to get outside and burn some steam off.
Preface: I am not a 'climate change denier'. I am not a scientist, heck not even a college graduate (though I did leave school with a 4.0gpa after 3 years)...
The climate constantly changes, sometimes drastically (in as little as decades) sometimes slowly over time (millenia)...What I am not convinced of is the 'man made' impact on climate change.
the earth was MUCH warmer 6-8 thousand years ago than it is now. the glaciers that everyone bemoans are melting faster than any time in the last 100 years, were MUCH SMALLER circa 1300ce and grew exponentially during the 'little ice age' (roughly 1450-1850ce). Ice Core data from greenland and peru basically prove that CO2 in the atmosphere has little to do with warming and cooling periods.
With all that said, I do feel we need to have as little 'impact' on our environment as possible to protect it for our and our progeny's future. we just have to be careful not to build religions around psuedo-science, martketing, and political platforms.

Some people are off their meds!
"My post was not political. It was to point out how politics..." Some people just never get it lol. I'm done with this conversation.
Seems like a dIvision in the ranks. bwb- I'm firmly in your camp and hope you keep posting for us old school guys. Just ignore the static and don't worry about the small stuff.I for one enjoy your posts and many others that add to excitement of talking hunting before an upcoming season. In the old days religion, politic's and excessivel babbling was reserved for the community forum. There is something to be said for old school! lol
BWB22/fran, et al ...I think I joined bowsite/the Leatherwall/the mass forum in 1996 +/- a year. I met some of my best friends on this forum. there was always some element of 'non-hunting' related topics. some of my best friends were the leading culprits of the science v. religion or politics posts. some of the most 'fun' discussions ensued....nobody got their panties in a wad, or if they did, they didn't last long.
my advice is to RELAX. if you don't like a topic, don't click on it, don't engage, or as my Mom always told me, 'Ignore them and they'll go away'. :)
"My post was not political. It was to point out how politics..."
Priceless!
Sorry had to do it !!!! Lol
Dfa, That is priceless! lol
I have to agree a bit with BWB, although I do think he was a little hard on Pi. I've been here a while, don't necessarily consider myself an old-timer, bit I'm immature so go figure! I do find myself skipping over a lot of threads on here that go off on tangents I have no desire to invest any time into. And yes, politics is one of them. Doldrums is mentioned, and that might be why a lot of guys disappear until hunting season is approaching again, because that's when the hunting talk picks up and the non-relevant topics wane. Now if we want to discuss climate change in how it relates to deer hunting (& fishing!), I'm game. If we are indeed in a warming trend it might explain the mild winter we are having in southern Z11. I have some young deer around my house that had not fattened themselves as much as the older deer, and yet they all seem to be thriving so far. With spring around the corner they should all do fine. I am hoping for lots of healthy fawns this year, coupled with a strong herd from last year. More deer is better, than I don't have to be a good hunter!
In the end, we'd all be here for each other. Now continue on !
DFA....ew...now I need to shower again...I feel unclean. lol
It does seem like the site has become a bit polarized by people who feel the need to express their opinions on Politics, Religion or Rants. I must admit, I refrain from commenting on a lot of post, for its just not worth it. I am not a word wizard, just a fellow hunter. It does seem like participation by viewers is down. Maybe people should PM each other on topics that are controversial instead of using the rest of us for an audience, some of us simply do not want to come on this forum to read it, so we go elsewhere. I say no Politics, No Religion. We are Hunters, that is our common bond. Politic and religion are very divisive. Take your pick, you deicide the future of this site.
Participation is down because of it not being deer season. Happens every year. This is a public forum and people should post whatever they want to. There is no law that says otherwise. There are no misleading captions on what the post is about.Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and a public forum lets them express their own ideas and thoughts whether people believe in it or not.
We are all adults here, except that CT troll.....This has been said before and I will say it again. If you don’t like the topic don’t click on it and def don’t reply to it. It’s not too hard to just ignore a post and move onto the next one. The only person who has the right to say what can and can’t be posted here is Pat.
I personally don’t care what is posted. It is always interesting to hear another side of a story or learn about something I never really thought of before. It could be one sided but remember there are always two sides to a story. It is up to us to figure out which one we believe in and if we want to pursue a conversation about the off Hunting topics. It is good some people are passionate about what they believe in, but leave the drama out of it. The name calling andreferences to try and intimidate and humiliate people is what gets everyone’s panties in a bunch.
So put your tampons in and pull the panties out of your cootchie and get on with life. It’s too short to be complaining about what someone says on a forum. Rant over ....
Just my .02
I’m on the side of post whatever you want as if people don’t want to read or respond they don’t have to easy as that. I posted a few political issues on here regarding MA as well and usually only after my jaw drops in disgust after reading a news article that I feel compelled to share. Since hunting season is over honestly it’s better to at least talk about something here then drop off until next season. Their has been numerous threads on here not devoted to bows and hunting and nobody attacked the OP before so why now? I will say that IF their is such thing as climate change although I think it’s natural and NOT man made but cyclical that I would say it does have some relevance to hunting ie ticks and moose etc. carry on just my 2 cents.
