If you have a iPhone 8 or newer phone look up Gaia app. It’s like $30 better than any gps I ever had. Multiple features including satellite view, road view, topo view, it lists marked hiking trails, you can drop waypoints, measure distances. As for Trail cams check out Walmart. They had some really good end of season blow out pricing, not sure if there are any left.

Does the i phone 8 pick up satellites or is it retrieving the information via cell towers? I have been using my I phones for years with maps app in satellite mode when elk hunting. They work well, downside is if you're in an area with no cell service, it's useless. That's where a legitimate gps would be better. If the newer i phones can act as a gps where they pick up satellites...that's a nice feature.

SILVERADO's Link
Bb I’m not sure, I know you can save the maps to your phone in bad service areas, and I found this link online. I think it says that it uses a hybrid cell/satellite gps if I am understanding the link correctly.
