Group name is "Kansas Bowsite" Password is "Booner" You will have to go to ESPN Tournament Challenge and create a log in then join the group. Get your brackets filled out before the round of 64. Many of you did this last year so you will just have to sign in and re-join our group. New fellows will have to join. Good Luck!
"The number of different possible bracket outcomes. Wondering how to pronounce that number? That would be nine quintillion, two hundred twenty-three quadrillion, three hundred seventy-two trillion, thirty-six billion, eight hundred fifty-four million, seven hundred seventy-five thousand, eight hundred eight."(CBS Sports)
This (State of) Kansas fan is aboard the train (wreck) Kyle! Gotta be KSU's best chance, even without Wade. No matter what happens, it will all be worthy of a good drink and a tenderloin to pair while cheering on our favorites.
Hilarious, only got to see about the last three minutes of the game. Spending all day working my dog for some very deserving people seemed a bit more important that basketball or Bowsite. You’re right, such priorities are to be expected. Good luck Friday. I’ll be pulling for the Cats.
Bad pick otiS! You should have known better! OU unhitched the wagon and put the ponies (Boomer & Sooner) in the barn at halftime! Got #1 seed Virginia in our sights next!
Kansasclipper http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/22136009/college-basketball-conference-power-rankings-according-bpi You are straight tripping brother
Kyle...with a K-State performance like that and being the first Big 12 team bounced and losing to none other than UCI “sisters of the blind-underwater basket weavers”....you should be banned in the future from creating basketball posts and contributing to them until K-State wins their first Tourney game....maybe next year KSU...and then again maybe not?
Not at all. OU beat another weak power 5 team. So did Baylor. None of those teams are very good. Look at what just happened to our Big 12 champs when they faced a good mid major. Mid Majors looking strong in the tourney. Wofford, Murray State, UCI all better than the Big 12. Go Mid Majors!!!!
Clip, your argument would hold water IF Cincy hadn't choked against a subpar power 5 team. Last year Cincy had the road paved to the Final 4, and fell on their face. The ONLY thing Cincy is good at is messing up dumb people's brackets! You know who I'm talking about? That same Cincinnati team you said was better than ANY Big 12 team. Give it up, American is nothing, they won't be represented in the Final 4. And the Shockers stink btw... :)
Anybody can be eliminated in a one and done format. KU got bounced in the first round in back to back years by 14 seeds. They don't suck and neither does Ciny. Houston was dominate today. And another Mid Major strikes. Liberty with the upset. As far as WSU, just remember the last time they played KU. By the way, you know I am a KU fan, right?
Clipper that was over a decade and a half ago.... do you even remember if KU was good? I know KU doesn’t suck they haven’t been bounced in the first round in YEARS! I know you’re a KU fan until WSU enters the conversation... I’m curious though, do you still think Cincinnati is better than every big 12 team? If so, they are massive chokers when it counts.
It was in 2015. Ron Baker, Fred Vanvleet, Tekele Cotton. WSU advanced to the sweet 16. As far as getting bounced, they were a 3 seed both years. Of course they were good. This year they are a 4 seed. I guess with your philosophy the only decent team in the Big 12 would be Tech since they are the best seed at a 3. KU also went out in the second round in 10, 14, 15. They are a "Blue Blood" where Cincy isn't. Cincy would compete with Tech and KU. Another Big 12 team bounced in the first round, the Big 12 Champions are now gone. Someone in the Big 12 may very well advance through the tournament. I hope it is KU and Tech. But the Big 12 is not as good as what the media makes it out to be. Given the right path any decent team can move through the tournament if they get hot at the right time. The balance is very good in the Big 12, but the overall talent is not what it used to be. No Wiggins, no Embiid, no Buddy Heild, not even a Withey. Tech has the only star player in the league. The top 4 or 5 teams in the American could move into the Big 12 and be instant contenders. The bottom teams could not. Top to bottom the Big 12 is better than the American, but not the top tier teams.
Kansasclipper said ”Another Big 12 team bounced in the first round, the Big 12 Champions are now gone.” What?
Your phone is ringing and TTech (Big 12 Co-Champs & NCAA Tourney 2nd round participants) is on line 1.
My opinion of strength between American and Big 12 conf is this: OU (Big 12 -lower tier finisher) beat WSU (American-middle of the pack finisher) by 32 pts. (80-48 final score)
Right now, projections show OU has a 6% chance of beating #1 seed UVA? OU is going to have to play out of their minds to win this one!!!!
He meant the "Champions of the Big 12 tourney"...and OU played "out of their minds" yesterday. Heck we beat them twice by double digits this year, it will be a miracle but maybe...just maybe
K-State/Texas Tech=Co Big 12 Conference Champions. Iowa State=Big 12 Champions. If you win your conference tournament, you are the Champion (Iowa State). That is why we have March Madness. I put in words that way on purpose. And it worked. Unfortunately you don't measure the strength of a team in December, you do it March.
They did as good as they could with what they have. KU can't play above the rim and the can't shoot beyond the perimeter. Have not had a dunk in 3 games. They only have 2 recruits signed for next year and neither one are in the top 100. They players they have don't have good shooting mechanics and are lacking athletic ability compared to other teams across the nation. In the Big 12 they will compete for another conference title though.
Clipper you’re hilarious, every coach in the nation is kicking themselves for not recruiting Morant, I don’t even know how low he was rated. This year’s players for KU were not lacking skill, they were lacking EXPERIENCE. Next year will be a different story. They add the outside threat they need, although, who knows how his game will translate as a FRESHMAN. Next year's sophomores will be light years ahead of where they’d be if KU had their typical veteran team this year. I’m tired of one and dones, they have left the cupboard somewhat bare, but KU will compete for more than the conference next year, bank on it.
One more thing, how in the world can you not call Abadji (sp?) and Dotson athletic?
You must not have watched the same KU Auburn game I did yesterday. Dotson got ate alive and Ochi couldn't even get on the floor. Even Bill Self doesn't make excuses for Freshman. Neither does Duke. Right now KU ranks 8 out of 10 in the Big 12 for next years recruiting class. With sanctions coming it doesn't look good. Mathew Hurt had said KU was his choice last year but with the investigations looming has now all but commited to Duke. Both Lawsons, Doke, De Sousa (suspended anyway) and Grimes will probably be gone. Dedric will head off to the pro's somewhere and the other Lawson graduates and is getting married this summer. And who knows what will happen with sanctions coming but the top recruits will be cautious for sure.
UCF is as good as Any Team in the country. Looks like Tech will be the only survivor from the Big 12. Unless OK pulls one off. Sad tourney so far for the Big 12. Hey look who is still alive in the NIT!
It was a joke fellas, a "play on words" based on one of the overplayed "Phil" commercials...over heads I guess? We all know they're gonna suck again, most likely won't even be eligible for anything "nationally".
WSU did look good today, hope they can continue on...and my bracket just gets better with time
Houston advances and UCF was 2 spins around the rim from going and knocking off the best team in the land. Only one team advances from the American but they looked like they belong in the top 6 or 8 teams in the country. Other than Tech a very poor showing for the Big 12, embarrassing actually. KSQ did you see the dunk by the 6 foot point guard from Auburn? That is athleticism. Blocking shots, not letting your opponents have open looks, and dunking. TRob, Wiggins, and the Morris boys, we don't have anything remotely close to that.
One of my 6th grade students at school has 15 out of 16 teams left. Watch out for Oregon. Dana Altman is about as good as it gets. Altman, John Beilein and Bruce Pearl are about as good as it gets when it comes to getting the most out of players.
Clipper, the Morris boys couldn't dunk in games as freshman. By their junior years, they were men. Wiggins was an incredible athlete, but he was a one and done player, which I hope KU stays away from, from now on. One more question Clipper, the resident expert, what was the average age of the starting 5 of Auburn? And don't mention Duke, take the almighty Zion off that team and their other freshman look quite ordinary.
Oh yeah, I hope Greggggg can win that tourney, what did they call it again?? Maybe he can prints some t-shirts for his team saying "69th best team in the country! Play Angry!!"
They went 3 and 3 without Zion in the toughest conference in Basketball. 3 of those games were on the road. Barrett, a Freshman, scored 33, 30, 21, 19, 28 and 26 in those games. He averaged a double double and had 10 assists against NC. Yea they fell apart and he is ordinary.
What happens to Duke two days ago without Zion? They should have been beat by a team that would have struggled in the ACC; w/o Zion they get destroyed Sunday. I’m glad you agree that they are a .500 team w/o Zion, you’re finally making sense. Duke will struggle mightily to get into the final 4. They’re a team that cannot shoot outside. That’s pretty important these days, as a KU fan I know all too well.
Just gonna put this here to prove that I led at one point ;) Went 4 for 4 last night but it won't be the case this evening. Lots of guys picking all "chalk"...lets see how it pays.
First two game were really good, hoping for some madness tonight!
Lots of players left to sign but looks like more of the same for the Big 12 next season. Tech has a decent recruiting class and has been the only ray of light for the conference this season.
Yea he was terrible, or was just in a terrible situation. He was a shrimp, couldn't shoot, couldn't pass, couldn't defend. Poor body language but the entire team and organization had poor body language all season.
Tuesday is the battle of the titans, Lipscomb versus WSU in the semifinals of the NIT. Kind of ironic that both Big XII teams in the NIT marched right through to the semifinals and face each other. The winner of the NIT can claim they are the 65th best team in the country and hang a banner. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen one of these banners in Allen Fieldhouse.
...horrible team beat two of the Final Four teams, plus two others that were in the top ten during he season. Be glad when basketball is over and Kyle gets back to being a respectable human being. I’m taking on the most challenging mentoring hunts I’ve ever dealt with, by far, and could probably use some help. If it’s the real Kyle, I know he will probably want in even if crossbows maybe involved. Ray, maybe you, too, down the road.
Never doubted that. A lot more prep and training...also a lot more satisfaction. You or I could have just as easily ended up the same. One is a teen-age boy, riding in the country with friends...
Well that is 3 players that KU has lost in the last couple of days. I am betting Doke and Grimes will be the next to announce. Grimes may test the waters without and agent though because he just can't make it in the NBA right now. Doubt he will transfer. I think Bill will test the NBA waters as well. I just don't think he has the temperament to coach in the NBA. But maybe Bron will come calling.
What a game, after the first 5min I thought it was gonna be a dud...and that Vegas had it right.
Congrats to VA, great team and coach! They went from worst lost last year to first, just like "shot in the dark" did in our brackets...can't make the schnidt up!
Poor guy from TT (that in Nov. bet $1,500 on TT to win Natty) was offered $125K guaranteed money after Friday’s game to turn in his bet. He instead decided to let it ride thru tonight for much bigger payday if TT wins? Instead, goes home with nothing....no “Guns Up” for him!
This year I was invited to enter 4 different pools - The official one at work, the undercover one at work, one at a local business, and of course, Kansas Bowsite. I created entirely different brackets for each and had far more success (luck) than ever before. I won in two of the pools and finished high in the others. But, as luck would have it, the two pools I won were precisely the ones that involved no prize ; )
KU will be a team of graduate transfers and juco transfers next year. They don't have very many recruits that are warm and scholarship openings galore.
Devon Dotson leaving KU declares for the NBA draft. Bill Self has a sinking ship. I am betting he doesn't go down with it. He will be heading to the NBA next.
Big 12 can’t compete, yet they placed three teams in the Elite 8 last season. The past three seasons they’ve had three different teams in the Final Four. College coaches continually compliment the conference.
KU will have one of, if not the, best point guards in the conference, a big man coming in and a super-athletic small forward. The ship was sinking the past 8-9 years according to some. (ALL OF THE ABOVE IS IN HUMOR...my accuracy rate on such is dismal.)
The NCAA needs to repeal next year’s suspension for Desousa if he leaves KU. Kid did nothing wrong, and is trying to work his way out of a war-torn country. Sort through the legal stuff as it comes. He deserves a full year or two of college to prove what he has. If KU coaches, Adidas and his “guardian” are all guilty, punish them and not the kid. If things go bad and Self jumps ship, he’s almost as bad as Kyle has always said. Time will tell.
And 1 national title!!! In that time frame 7 for the ACC, Big East 7, and 6 for SEC. The Big 8 and Big 12 have combined for 3 in the history of the championship. The MO Valley 4. The Big 12 just doesn't live up to the hype.
Meanwhile, back at reality, I’ll stick with what the D1 coaches say about teams in the length of an entire season. We’re also talking recent history, as in the past few seasons when the BIG 12, not 8 or 6, has been good.
Sorry, my stock is with the people who know more because they played the sport recently or coach it now. And Dotson “declares” but he’ll be back.
The titles I listed are from 1994 til now. If you want to go current then the Big 12 has "0". None since 08. Here are the rankings for 2019-20. 7 ACC and Big 10 Teams. Michigan State Virginia Duke Kentucky Michigan Louisville Marquette Maryland North Carolina Kansas
