Opening day was yesterday. Anyone knocking any gobblers down yet? It’s not looking like I’ll be able to get out for the archery season this spring, but we sure had some fun on the juniors hunt.
My 11 year old daughter,Kaitlynn, got her first bird! We had an incredible morning with over 10 birds gobbling from what seemed like every direction. We had five birds called in by 7am, some just out of range. Then as we were calling to one, another two snuck up behind us strutting and drumming. We had to freeze until they had walked past us. Kaitlynn made a great shot and the rest was history!

Took a vet out before sunup Saturday morning --- he sealed the deal at 32 yards just before 7 (his 1st-ever Arizona big game animal!).

Goulds 10-1/2 inch beard. Only one 1/2 " spur. This is pretty typical of Goulds Turkeys.
