Hoping for some advice here... Trying to put together a fishing/camping trip with my son in early June. I am hoping to find something in the White Mountains area of NH/ME. The problem I am running into is finding a place that will allow us to bring the boat (16 foot fishing boat). Looking for a campground with good fishing and a public ramp as close as possible. Has anyone ever done something like this or know of any spots to check out?

I say go up to pittsburg nh rent a cabin and fish the CT lakes. I haven’t been up that way since my dads buddy sold his camp but it’s awesome fishing and beautiful.

Rangeley Lake State park, Rangeley Maine. Its been a while but when I used to go they had an excellent ramp and docks that are in the park and walking distance from the tent sites. You can leave the boat in the water. Tents or campers are allowed and sites are fairly private for a state park.

Their is also Lake Champlain in VT. You can rent a cabin with a dock.

Davidson's campground, exit 23 off 93. Great lake that's more like a river, pulled some nice trout and large mouth bass out of there. I grew up going to Davidson's, great family campground, you could throw a rock and hit the public boat launch. Just don't go at bike week with the boy, it's a whole different experience! Lol

Lake Francis State Park in Pisttsburg NH. You can get a campsite on the water , boat ramps close by. From that area you can fish- Lake Francis, 1st, 2nd or 3rd Connecticut lakes, Back lake etc. maybe see a bear or moose on moose alley. This is a trout-salmon fishery. Allow at least 2 night stay. Another great place is Lily Bay SP at Moosehead Lake in Maine. Also Coleman State Park on Diamond Pond in NH.

Having spent a lot of time in the Rangeley Lakes region, I second (or third) this suggestion. I have a camp on Aziscohos and recommend Black Brook Cove Campground. Convenient from route 16 and Aziscohos is a beautiful lake with 18 miles of nearly undisturbed shoreline. (The Magalloway river dumps out of the dam below and offers tailwater releases that keep the water cold and the fishing excellent throughout the summer.) They have a great selection of remote campgrounds and a very convenient ramp. If interested, you can also easily pull the boat and spend a day on The Richardsons (Upper/Lower). (That ramp is less than a mile from the main campground.) Alternatively, I would look into South Arm Campground on Lower Richardson. They, too, have a great selection of remote sites & boat ramp. This would also position you to boat to the Rapid River if interested. In either scenario, the fishing in both lakes in early June is excellent with fish high in the thermocline. Note: Both rivers are flyfishing only. Happy to share more intel if interested.

Wardensworry if you are interested in a new friend or possibly adopting me let me know. I have a camp on Aziscohos is not something you hear every day. I just had visions of gate keys and lost consciousness for a short while.

Thanks for all the tips guys! Really appreciate it! I actually found a campground on Granger pond in Denmark, ME. The campground is up on the mountain side. The fishing in there is supposed to be real good, but the plan is to fish Kezar lake over in Lovell (about a half hour away). Kezar is listed as one of the top 100 lakes to fish in the country. Hoping to get my son into a couple of monsters! Thanks again for the suggestions, I will be checking a lot of these out as we plan more trips.
And I agree with Rangeley, the area is awesome! My wife and I actually spent 14 days on Rangeley Lake for our honeymoon. That was an awesome time!

Stillhunter - Its been a great spot for my family. We originally leased the property about 15 years ago and were finally given the opportunity to buy the land outright two years ago. A total stretch for us but it is a special place for our entire family. Even without gate keys, the fishing, bird hunting etc. are hard to beat. Have done some deer hunting up there too but its big country and requires long stretches of time to be successful...at least for me. For now, I get my deer fix with the bow here in MA.... My brother and I will be spending a week in Oct, however, in search of a bull moose. Our first draw in 15 years. We are pumped.

a worthy investment for sure. those quintessential northern New England sporting locations usually stay in the family for generations. Last time I was at upper dam their was a house for sale on leased land. I would had loved to buy, thou Im sure it would have come with a divorce so I passed. I have been fishing up that way many times. I have hiked or biked into upper , middle, and what's left of lower dam. I have also stayed at Lakewood which is beautiful, and a real time saver. I have fished lower Maggalaway a few times. I would say camp 10 Bridge is probably next. Upper maggalaway and Parmachenee remain a bucket list fishery for now, thou I will likely go with a guide out of Bosebuck when the time comes. Good luck with the moose hunt.

Bridge 10 and the waters above are beautiful and productive in June and September. Hit me up if you are in the area. I have several friends that have used Bosebuck and were very happy. Nice people.
And, for what it’s worth, I got the camp in the books before the wedding ring so it was all part of the package when she said “yes”. :).
