Looking into switching arrows this year, as my last batch are beat up pretty good. Just wondering what everyone on here likes best.

Started out with birch as a kid. Then went to Port Orford Cedar. Then compressed cedar from Bill Sweetland in Oregon ( I think that's where he was). Then went to Microflite in the sixties. Then, of course, as everyone was doing, went to Easton aluminum until about Y2K. Since then it's been carbons all the way, a couple different brands.

I use Carbon Express Maxima Hunter SD. Since switching from aluminum many years ago, CE are all I ever used.

Still using Easton Aluminum G.G.'s. Always toss around going to Wood, just havn't yet. I also have been looking at these Dark Timber carbon shafts at Big Jim's Archery for $30 per 6. But, when I can still get the Aluminum's for $30 per dozen, I will stay with them.

They are all more than capable of killing game. I have used everything, and they all work. These questions typically get opinion-based answers that are almost always answered with something that is what people currently use.
Bows, arrows, releases, sights, etc., mean zilch. Practice is more important than gear....in my honest opinion.

Gold Tip Hunters for my family as well. They are straight, tough and not expensive (as compared to other carbons). BC

I don't sell these but just had a customer that wanted to go to a 650 grain arrow . He ordered a sample package from GrizzyStik 2 arrows and two broadheads . I set up his bow for him and the stiffer arrow worked better . He ended up ordering one of their arrow packages . 18 arrows and 12 broadheads just under $600.00 .

Victory VAP Elite .166 with the 95 grain stainless steel insert. I went to an archery shop in MN and asked for the best hunting arrow money could buy - that is what they suggested. They group well for me at 60 yards, so they seem to have good consistency. The best arrow I ever shot was an Easton ACC - they grouped very well at longer ranges but didn't seem as durable as other arrows I had tried. Best of luck in your search.

I will echo what Pete says...practice trumps most anything. Arrows come with cost and all arrows can kill. However, kill in dependent upon accuracy. Accuracy comes with practice.
As archers, we must practice often. We do not depend on scopes and rests. Building core muscles strength will help accuracy and enable drawing slower without drawing attention to the draw cycle. Pulling that bow back and being proficient has so many rewards. I have all but thrown the guns away, just no challenge or reward. I will take practice and proficiency any day. No easy button for me.

I’ve been really impressed with Day Six arrows. They are built out west and are a bit heavier and hold up to more abuse than the FMJ’s I had originally shot. Check em out!
