With the site being down for a few days I thought it would be a new and improved site.
I don't see any changes. Anybody else?
Well, so far everyone's getting along:)
I expected something different also.
Maybe the reason everyone's getting along is because there's NO COMMUNITY FORUM..
I did not participate in the community forum. This is what Pat posted in the now 'empty' community forum.
"We have made the decision to remove the former 'community' forum, along with all previous discussions associated with it. This decision was not made lightly, but it was necessary in an attempt to position Bowsite for upcoming changes. In the coming weeks, we will be communicating those changes to you. We appreciate your understanding."
I wonder of those changes will affect the state forums too.
Ah .....I never really went in there. The one time I opened it, it was like walking into a bar after a boxing matching. Everyone argueing and fighting trying to prove how tough they were over the most inconsequential BS or meaningless post to show how political they are.
Get ready for the new improved crossbow friendly Bowsite;)
I was hoping we'd see circa 2010 technology but we're still in late 90s. Maybe that will be changing.
Corn piles and crossbows have probably killed more good threads than deer around here;)
I would guess any major archery related business that wants future growth had better get on board with scoped crossbows. Real bowhunting (as defined by the P&Y Club) is on the downhill road.
I always know where to go when I think I'm in too good of a mood I just look for one of these silly posts
I would not let any forum posts ruin your mood, much more important things in life to be concerned with. The reality is, real bow and arrow hunting is in decline.
Haven't you ever been told nobody can make you feel any way you don't want to? Wanna be happy just shoot your computer :)
Yet another thread is ruined by the person who can't help but make every thread a scoped crossbow thread. How tiring...
Use to be the mention of x-bow would be deleted as soon it pop up, which should be since it is a non-archery related in Wi., but with the main bow manufacture that are producing them now I do not think Pat want to cut his nose off the front of his face with the sponsors. BS walk and money talks.
I never even knew there was a "community forum"....lol
Every site I have seen that has a "current events" or "community forum" has had issues with it....they probably wish they never had it.
No decline at my house . 14 kids & Adults shooting & 2 more kids start next week . A 3 year old & a 6 year old .
Depends what you term as decline. There was a spike quite awhile ago where ever swinging you know what took up bowhunting. I think it may have tapered off to a natural level.
I just think it`s society in general....the want and drive just isn`t there anymore in a lot of people.
"Real" everything is in decline as far as I'm concerned, and that includes archery.
Kids don't play outside, they play on computers. Everything is virtual and done on a keyboard. We should be having this conversation at the coffee shop but here we are on the internet. Nobody goes and "visits" on the weekends anymore like we used to, and have dinner; we send a quick 3 word text to communicate. Even S-E-X has gone virtual and there's even a medical condition young men suffer from because they surfed too much porn and when the real deal comes along they ain't "up" to the task because the girl ain't kinky enough. (Read about it on the internet!)
Truth is, unless we get off the couch, off the electronics, and get back outdoors the very sports we love will suffer...whether it's bowhunting, fishing, baseball. We're into a generation that's real good at talking about these things but not really good at pursuing them.
Having said all that I don't see a decline of people in the woods as a bad thing for those of us that do it because by nature hunting is and should be a solitary endeavor. If the modern generation doesn't care enough to get into it why should I care? You can lead a horse to water..
Glad some of you understand what is happening to bow and arrow hunting. Others still do not get it, or are closet enablers.
Make bow and arrow hunting great again!!!!!
Well said South, I feel the same way and see those things also. Yeager and Evens wrote a song about it, In The Year 2525, remember it? It seems to be coming true?
Ruger, very nice that she is getting into real archery.
Live....funny how people so many years ago could predict our future. Sadly it won`t be 2525 by the time some of that stuff happens.
Slicer your assuming too much . I start them on Trad bows at 15 feet . Then most ( not all ) switch to compounds with sites & releases . Distance 's 10, 20 , & 30 .
Once they are exc shooters with the compounds we switch to Trad bows again . Some stay with tbe trads , some go with the compounds. 1 went to a crossbow .
Theres a methed to my system . It seems to keep them interested .
Ruger I am impressed, anyone that can hunt with 2 bows at the same time must be good at it. Either that or they break a lot of bows and carry a spare.
Jeff thats daughter # 3 . She was holding my bow while I climbed a branch to see how big the Tag alder field was .
Shes a tough gal . Late season , Zero degees & 1 foot of snow .
You must doing something right....my niece begged me for a bow so I bought her a nice brand new one like a dummy and guess where it is....in the closet...lol
